Abstract

This study focused on the low reading literacy level of students at MI Tarbiyatul Banin and examined the impact of reading literacy programs and library visits on their learning outcomes. Using a quantitative quasi-experimental design, the research involved 100 students from grades 1 to 6, who were divided into experimental and control groups through random sampling. Data were obtained from literacy ability tests and learning outcome assessments, then were analyzed using t-tests, homogeneity and normality tests, the gain index, and effect size. The findings show that reading literacy programs and library visits have a significantly positive effect on student learning outcomes. These activities not only improve students’ literacy and academic performance but also reflect the principles of humanistic and progressive educational philosophies, which view education as a process of shaping individuals who think critically, acquire meaningful knowledge, and act ethically.”

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan, mengetahui kelayakan, dan menguji keefektifan media interaktif “Puwza” pada materi perubahan wujud zat untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas IV di salah satu SDN yang ada di Kabupaten Pati. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode R&D dengan model pengembangan Borg and Gall yang meliputi sepuluh tahap, mulai dari analisis potensi dan masalah hingga pembuatan produk massal. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IV dengan jumlah 28 siswa terdiri dari 22 kelompok besar dan 6 kelompok kecil. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, angket, dokumentasi, serta tes berupa pre-test dan post-test. Analisis data dilakukan melalui uji validitas dan reliabilitas instrumen, uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk, uji t, dan perhitungan N-gain. Siswa sudah mampu berpikir kritis karena telah mampu melakukan interpretasi, analisis, evaluasi, inference, explanation, dan regulasi diri. Penelitan ini divalidasi oleh seorang ahli media dan seorang ahli materi. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa media interaktif “Puwza” memperoleh persentase kelayakan sebesar 98% dari ahli materi dan 94% dari ahli media dengan kategori sangat layak. Hasil uji keefektifan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, ditunjukkan oleh nilai rata-rata post-test yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan pre-test serta nilai N-gain sebesar 0,70 dengan kategori tinggi. Dengan demikian, media interaktif “PUWZA” dinyatakan layak dan efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPAS materi perubahan wujud zat.
