Abstract

Abstract: The Effectiveness of the Principal’s Internal Dimensions in the Instructional Leadership. This study aims to investigate and analyze the effectiveness of internal dimensions related to the principal’s instructional leadership in SMP Negeri 2 Glagah, Banyuwangi. This study involved 140 participants as the sample, selected using the purpose sampling technique. The data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and were analyzed using the descriptive technique. The results indicated that the internal dimensions were very effective, shown by (1) the indicator of the school’s mission, with a score of 516.3 and a percentage of 93.939%; (2) the indicator of the instructional organization with a score of 525.5 and a percentage of 93. 839%; (3) the indicator of instructional practice improvement with a score of 511.0 and a percentage of 91.25%; and (4) the indicator of positive school climate improvement with a score of 490.6 and a percentage of 87.611%. On the whole, the mean score of internal dimensions related to instructional leadership was 510.85 with a percentage of 91.22 %. Keywords: effectiveness, instructional leadership, internal dimensions

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis efektivitas perilaku kepemimpinan pembelajaran kepala sekolah di SMP Negeri 2 Banyuwangi. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian evaluatif-deskriptif dengan pendekatan ex post facto dalam bentuk studi kasus. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Variabel penelitian adalah aspek kepemimpinan pembelajaran kepala sekolah yang mendukung terciptanya sekolah efektif, yang terdiri dari lima indikator, yaitu: perilaku teknis, perilaku hubungan antar manusia, perilaku edukasional, perilaku simbolik, dan perilaku kultural. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner model skala Likert terhadap 140 orang partisipan, dan data dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas aspek perilaku kepemimpinan pembelajaran kepala sekolah terhadap pengelolaan pendidikan di SMP Negeri 2 Banyuwangi, dilihat dari lima indikator, tergolong sangat efektif. Persentase efektivitas dari indikator perilaku teknis, indikator perilaku hubungan antarmanusia, indikator perilaku edukasional, indikator perilaku simbolik, dan indikator perilaku kultural adalah berturut-turut: 87,23%; 90,60%; 87,04%; 91,13%; dan 92,89%. Rata-rata efektivitas perilaku kepemimpinan pembelajaran kepala sekolah adalah sebesar 89,78%. Kata-kata Kunci: efektivitas perilaku,  kepemimpinan pembelajaran, perilaku kepemimpinan

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of collaborative coaching on teacher performance. This research was conducted from July 2022 to August 2022. The research method used was descriptive qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Sources of data were obtained from school principals, classroom teachers and mulok teachers. Data collection techniques using interviews. The data analysis technique used is John W. Creswell's qualitative data analysis (2017). Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that collaborative coaching on teacher performance is in accordance with the steps of the GROW collaborative coaching model, namely asking the purpose of doing coaching, encouraging coachees to expand their point of view related to the situation at hand, agreeing on the desired results in overcoming problems, discussing the most effective way to achieve a destination.

Abstract

Geographical factors that exist in Indonesia with a variety of local wisdom wealth in it are owned by the Indonesian people. Both of these things have message and moral values ​​that were passed down by their ancestors. Culture or local wisdom in each region makes Indonesia a country that has a high diversity. Having a diverse and diverse culture in Indonesia is called multiculturalism. The concept of multiculturalism is a concept of national and state life, as well as an acknowledgment of the existence of democratic values. In order for the concept of multiculturalism to develop and be recognized as a unifier between cultures, it is necessary to teach and train the next generation of the nation through the educational process in the education unit. The purpose of this study is to provide deeper knowledge and insight regarding the form of application of local wisdom values ​​in Pati in multicultural education at SDN Tambakromo 01. The research method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a pheomenological model. By applying the values ​​of local wisdom that exist in Pati in multicultural education in elementary schools, it can create tolerance among students of various cultures, and foster mutual respect, and get used to behaving by upholding the culture of courtesy in everyday life.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difference in the effect of learning management using cartoon media with learning using conventional media on understanding physics concepts in class VIII junior high school students. This research was conducted from July 2022 to August 2022. The research method used was experimental research using a posttest only control group design model. The population of this study were students of class VIII SMP, with a sample of 30 students who were taken by using cluster random sampling technique. Data on understanding the concept of physics was obtained from a test of understanding the concept of physics with a total of 25 items that have been tested for validity, reliability, level of difficulty, and differentiating power of item questions. The data analysis technique used is t test analysis. Based on the output of the results of the t-test analysis, the following results were obtained: F = 0.027, then the Sig (2-tailed) result of 0.000 was found to be smaller than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05) thus the first working hypothesis (Ha) which proposed reads "there are differences in the effect of learning management using cartoon media with learning using conventional media on the understanding of physics concepts in class VIII SMP students are accepted.

Abstract

The low learning outcomes of PPKn indicate that learning goals have not been achieved. It can be seen from the results of the daily test scores of grade IV students of SD Negeri Glonggong that diversity material as a gift of God shows that 7 out of 27 students or 26% of students are complete and 20 students or 74% are not complete. The reason is that students dare not ask questions, students have not dared to come forward to do assignments, and many students find KDP lessons boring. The purpose of the study is to improve the learning outcomes of PPKn material diversity of individual characteristics. The research stage includes planning, observation and reflection. From the results of the action, it shows an increase in ppkn learning outcomes material diversity of individual characteristics, it can be seen from the results of student learning evaluation in the pre-cycle reaching 26%, increasing in cycle I 70%, cycle II 100% so that there is an increase from pre-cycle to cycle II by 74%. The Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning model can improve learning achievement, make the learning process fun, increase student activity in the PPKn learning process, material diversity of individual characteristics in grade IV subjects at SD Negeri Glonggong.

Abstract

Common problems that EFL learners face when writing are lack of vocabulary, limited understanding of grammar, and generating ideas. An alternative teaching strategy that will help them overcome this problem is the Think-Boli-Write (TTW) strategy. The purpose of this study was to confirm whether the use of the TTW strategy combined with audio-visual media had a significant effect on students' descriptive writing skills. This study uses qualitative and quantitative data. Quantitative data was taken from the results of the pretest and posttest for all cycles. Qualitative data will be used to compare the results before and after the study. They were recorded through observation, interviews and questionnaires. Based on the discussion and conclusions, a think-talk-write strategy is recommended to improve writing skills. These results indicate that the TTW strategy combined with audio-visual media improves students' descriptive writing skills; for it to be an effective strategy for English teachers in teaching descriptive writing.

Abstract

This study focused on the low reading literacy level of students at MI Tarbiyatul Banin and examined the impact of reading literacy programs and library visits on their learning outcomes. Using a quantitative quasi-experimental design, the research involved 100 students from grades 1 to 6, who were divided into experimental and control groups through random sampling. Data were obtained from literacy ability tests and learning outcome assessments, then were analyzed using t-tests, homogeneity and normality tests, the gain index, and effect size. The findings show that reading literacy programs and library visits have a significantly positive effect on student learning outcomes. These activities not only improve students’ literacy and academic performance but also reflect the principles of humanistic and progressive educational philosophies, which view education as a process of shaping individuals who think critically, acquire meaningful knowledge, and act ethically.”

Abstract

This study aimed at: 1. Revealing the implementation of the literacy movement at SD Negeri Jakenan, 2. Knowing the instilling of students’ characters formed in the literacy movement at SD Negeri Jakenan, 3. Knowing the reasons why the literacy movement was held at SD Negeri Jakenan. This type of research was qualitative research. The setting of this research was SD Negeri Jakenan Pati, and the object was the students’ behavior at SD Negeri Jakenan Pati. This research found that the school literacy movement aiming to cultivate the character of elementary school students at SD Negeri Jakenan, one of which was to carry out reading habits before teaching and learning activities began. This activity lasted for between 10 to 15 minutes each day. This activity was coordinated by the principal of the school and teachers. The characters shaped from the implementation of this activity were responsibility, fond of reading, respect for achievement, curiosity, and religion. Based on this research, it was suggested that teachers should be role models for students since teachers were very influential in the success of instilling students’ character. Then, the institutions should pay more attention to literacy activities by providing more books and programs that supported students' interest in reading.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an Integrated Inquiry Model with the SQ3R Strategy to improve the reading comprehension skills of elementary school students. The background of this research stems from the low ability of fifth-grade students to understand informative and narrative texts, characterised by difficulties in finding main ideas, identifying detailed information, and drawing conclusions. The research was conducted in three elementary schools in Jepara Regency, namely Rogomulyo 01 State Elementary School, Rogomulyo 02 State Elementary School, and Boloagung 02 State Elementary School, involving fourth-grade students through a research and development (R&D) approach that adapted the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). At the analysis stage, reading learning needs are mapped out through observation, teacher interviews, and analysis of learning outcomes. The design and development phase resulted in an inquiry-based learning model integrated with the SQ3R steps (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review), accompanied by learning materials and evaluation instruments validated by content experts and learning experts. Implementation was carried out through limited trials and extensive testing in all three schools, followed by formative and summative evaluations to ensure the model's applicability. The research results show that the developed model is able to significantly improve students' reading comprehension skills. Improvements were seen in the ability to identify main ideas, understand inter-sentence relationships, interpret implied meaning, and reflect on the reading content. Statistical analysis shows a significant difference in scores between pre-tests and post-tests, while qualitative data indicates an increase in students' motivation, learning activity, and metacognitive strategies during the learning process. Overall, this study concludes that the integrated inquiry model with the SQ3R strategy is effective for reading instruction in elementary schools and has the potential to be an alternative pedagogical strategy for improving reading literacy. This model is relevant for wider application as a good practice for reasoning-based learning, exploration, and strengthening the ability to understand text holistically.
