Abstract

This study aims to describe parental parenting styles and their relationship with the development of religious and moral values in children aged 5–6 years in a Raudhatul Athfal Group B setting. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed with 15 children and their parents as respondents. Data were collected through observation, parenting style questionnaires, and documentation. The independent variable was parental parenting style (authoritarian, democratic, permissive), while the dependent variable was the development of religious and moral values measured across three indicators: politeness, habituation of worship practices, and accuracy in imitating prayer movements. The findings show two dominant parenting styles democratic (60%) and authoritarian (40%). Increases in developmental categories were observed across the three indicators between the first and second observations, with the most notable improvements occurring among children raised with democratic parenting (e.g., 67% achieving the “Very Well Developed” category for politeness; 56% for worship habituation; and 56% for prayer movement accuracy). Pearson correlation analysis revealed a significant negative relationship between parenting style and the development of religious moral values (r = –0.636; p = 0.011), indicating that more democratic parenting is associated with better outcomes compared to authoritarian parenting. The study concludes that democratic parenting characterized by balanced rules, modeling, and open communication more effectively supports the development of politeness, worship routines, and accurate prayer movements in early childhood.

Abstract

The teaching of Arabic as a Foreign Language (AFL) presents significant challenges, particularly in terms of student engagement and proficiency. Traditional instructional methods often struggle to maintain student interest, leading to suboptimal learning outcomes. Gamification, the integration of game elements into educational settings, has emerged as a potential solution to enhance both engagement and learning outcomes. This study aims to explore the impact of gamification on student engagement and Arabic language proficiency. A mixed-methods approach was employed, with 60 undergraduate students randomly assigned to either a gamified or a traditional learning group. The experimental group engaged in a gamified learning environment, incorporating points, leaderboards, and interactive tasks. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests measuring language proficiency, a student engagement questionnaire, and qualitative interviews. The results indicated that the experimental group demonstrated significantly higher improvements in language proficiency, particularly in speaking and writing, compared to the control group. Engagement levels were also notably higher in the gamified group, as evidenced by their increased participation and motivation. The findings suggest that gamification is an effective tool for enhancing student engagement and proficiency in AFL, offering an innovative approach to language learning. Further research is needed to explore the long-term effects of gamification and its applicability across different educational contexts.

Abstract

The role of faith in organizational development has gained increasing attention, particularly in Islamic contexts where religious principles shape organizational practices and communication strategies. Islamic values such as justice, Shura (consultation), and community welfare have profound implications for organizational behavior, leadership, and social responsibility. This study aims to explore how these faith-based principles influence organizational communication and contribute to social change. The research focuses on Islamic organizations, examining the integration of faith in decision-making, communication practices, and community engagement. A qualitative case study approach was employed, incorporating interviews with organizational leaders and employees, document analysis, and observations across five Islamic organizations. The findings suggest that the incorporation of Islamic values leads to more inclusive decision-making processes, stronger communication channels, and a heightened sense of social responsibility. Organizations that prioritized faith-based values demonstrated greater transparency, employee engagement, and community involvement. The study concludes that faith plays a central role in fostering social change within organizations, enhancing both internal development and broader societal impact. Integrating Islamic values into organizational practices not only promotes ethical decision-making but also drives positive social transformation. These findings contribute to the understanding of faith-based organizational development and offer practical insights for integrating religious values in modern organizational contexts.
