Abstract

This research is motivated by the low science learning outcomes of elementary school students due to the dominance of conventional teacher-centered methods and the lack of innovative learning media. These conditions cause difficulties in understanding abstract concepts, low motivation, and lack of opportunities for independent learning outside the classroom. This study aims to develop an e-module based on the flipped classroom model to improve science learning outcomes of fourth-grade elementary school students. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the 4-D Thiagarajan development model which includes the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The research subjects were 24 fourth-grade students of SDN 06 Aur Tajungkang Tengah Sawah Bukittinggi who were selected through total sampling. The research instruments included validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, learning outcome tests, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through content and construct validity tests, reliability tests, practicality analysis, N-Gain calculations, and independent sample t-tests with SPSS 16.0. The results of the study showed that the developed e-module was highly valid with an average validation value of 96.8% from material experts and 100% from media experts. The practicality test showed a very practical category, with 94.6% from teachers and 91.2% from students, respectively. Effectiveness analysis through N-Gain showed an increase in learning outcomes in the moderate category (0.58), and the t-test confirmed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups (p < 0.05). The flipped classroom-based e-module is valid, practical, and effective, and is recommended to strengthen learning independence and the effectiveness of science learning in the digital era.

Abstract

The purposes of the study were to analyze the profile of the development of literacy teaching materials in writing prose and produce prototypes of teaching materials for students' prose writing which included the development of positive characters written by elementary school children. Writing habits with the planting of characters familiarize students to be positive following what is usually done. This is based on the character of students currently still concerning. The model of developing prose literacy for elementary students used is the Plomp model with steps: preliminary research, prototyping phase, and assessment phase. Participants in this study, namely experts, elementary students, and elementary school teachers. Data obtained by triangulating data and analyzed by processing quantitative descriptive data. The research findings indicate that the characteristic profile of students tends to be difficult in writing prose essays. The profile of needs analysis shows that elementary students are very fond of fantasy fairy tales, fables, parables, myths, realistic tales, and sage. The prototype of literacy teaching materials writes valid prose according to the needs of students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a thematic learning media in the era of industrial revolution 4.0 by using educational games for elementary students that are valid, practical and effective. Thematic learning media using educational games is closely related to innovation and the use of technology following the demands of the industrial revolution 4.0 era to increase student’s attractiveness in learning. Thematic media learning was the result of development by using adobe flash CS6 program. The contained of media was thematic learning that integrates of several subjects. The development model used was 4-D (define, design, develop, disseminate). The research data was obtained from the validity test (media validation sheet), practicality (student and teacher response questionnaire), and effectiveness (student learning activities and results). Data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the thematic learning media was valid (media content according to curriculum, attractive design and layout, ease of operation, easy to understand students' language, and clear presentation according to student characteristics), practical (clear contents and objectives, easy to read, attractive appearance, and student interest increases), and effective (can increase student activity and learning outcomes). Learning media using educational games can create a fun learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi model pembelajaran RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create) berbasis etnopedagogi dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman peserta didik kelas IV SDIT Adzkia 2 Padang. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman peserta didik, di mana hasil pretest menunjukkan hanya 31% peserta didik yang tuntas, sementara 69% belum mencapai kriteria ketuntasan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model spiral Kemmis dan McTaggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 26 peserta didik, terdiri dari 12 laki-laki dan 14 perempuan. Instrumen penelitian meliputi lembar observasi aktivitas pendidik dan peserta didik, penilaian modul ajar, serta tes keterampilan membaca pemahaman yang mencakup tahap pra baca, saat baca, dan pasca baca. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada setiap siklus. Pada siklus I pertemuan pertama, keterampilan membaca peserta didik berada pada kategori cukup dengan ketuntasan 35%, meningkat menjadi 73% pada pertemuan kedua setelah dilakukan perbaikan. Pada siklus II pertemuan pertama, keterampilan membaca mencapai kategori amat baik dengan ketuntasan 88%, didukung aktivitas pendidik dan peserta didik yang lebih aktif serta produk kreatif yang lebih variatif. Dengan demikian, penerapan model RADEC berbasis etnopedagogi terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman sekaligus menanamkan nilai budaya lokal kepada peserta didik. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan model pembelajaran RADEC berbasis etnopedagogi sebagai alternatif strategi pembelajaran inovatif di sekolah dasar.
