Abstract

Preeclampsia constitutes an obstetric complication with 5.3% prevalence in Indonesia, significantly contributing to maternal mortality rates. Cognitive deficiency among pregnant women regarding preeclampsia risk factors represents a fundamental determinant in primary preventive strategies. This research aimed to optimize awareness and comprehensive knowledge of gravidas concerning preeclampsia through implementation of structured health education programs. Research methodology employed participatory action research involving 13 gravida respondents at Posyandu Dahlia XI, Karawang Regency. Comprehensive educational interventions encompassed interactive counseling, applicative demonstrations, and educational media development. Pre-post test evaluation demonstrated significant escalation of optimal knowledge categories from 38.46% to 84.61% of respondents post-intervention. The program successfully generated behavioral transformation, establishment of sustainable peer support mechanisms, and formation of collective community awareness. Implementation of participatory health education proved effective in cognitive enhancement and gravida awareness toward preeclampsia preventive strategies, resulting in sustainable behavioral modification within maternal communities. This intervention model demonstrates significant potential for replication in similar healthcare settings

Abstract

Posyandu is one form of community empowerment aimed at improving public health, particularly for mothers and children. It serves as one of the spearheads of public health services in Karawang. However, challenges still exist in Posyandu services, including the level of participation of toddlers and the capacity of cadres in carrying out Posyandu activities. Gombongsari Village is a village where most of the residents are farmers. This village has been designated as a model village in Karawang Regency to compete in the National-level P2WKWS program.P2WKWS is an integrated assessment activity aimed at evaluating the success of villages or urban wards in empowering women’s roles in family development, particularly in health aspects, in this case, Posyandu. In response to this, a strategic step was needed to reactivate the “Activate Posyandu” movement as an effort to increase the capacity of Posyandu cadres to accelerate the achievements of Gombongsari Village Posyandu. The cadres were provided with training and education on Exclusive Breastfeeding (ASI Eksklusif), complementary feeding (MP-ASI) and animal protein-rich foods, as well as nutritional status and its management. The results of this community service activity showed a significant increase before and after the intervention in education on Exclusive Breastfeeding, complementary feeding and animal protein-rich foods, as well as nutritional status and its management (p-value = 0.001, p-value = 0.001, p-value = 0.001).The success of this intervention was supported by the delivery of materials relevant to the cadres’ field conditions, engaging media, and effective delivery methods. This proves that providing interventions effectively improves cadres’ knowledge capacity. With the increased understanding and capacity of the cadres, it is expected that they will be able to improve health services at the Posyandu.

Abstract

Back pain in pregnant women is an uncomfortable response that is often felt by pregnant women. Usually back pain will start to appear when the pregnancy reaches 7 months. In fact, back pain is a normal thing to happen, but if back pain is not treated then it can interfere with daily activities or activities so that activities become hampered due to difficulties. One way that can be done to reduce back pain is pregnancy yoga. This application aims to determine the success in reducing back pain complaints. The application of pregnancy yoga was carried out with a pre-test and post-test using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) measuring instrument. The pain scale was measured before and after applying pregnancy yoga. Based on the results of the application of pregnancy yoga, it was found that at the beginning of application the mother's pain scale was 6 (moderate pain) and after application it reduced to 4 (moderate pain). So it can be concluded that pregnancy yoga has an effect on reducing back pain if done well and correctly.
