Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Community Service Program (KKN) students in implementing digital marketing communication as a strategy to empower ginger chips micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Karang Anyer Village, Simalungun Regency. The background of this research is the low utilization of digital communication technology in promoting local products, which has resulted in MSMEs relying mainly on traditional marketing practices. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews with MSME actors and KKN students, and documentation. The findings reveal that KKN students act as facilitators, companions, and innovators in introducing digital marketing communication strategies through the use of social media, online marketplaces, and locally based promotional content. Their role has contributed to improving digital communication skills, expanding market reach, and strengthening the brand image of ginger chips as a competitive local product. In conclusion, the involvement of KKN students not only provides practical contributions to the development of ginger chips MSMEs but also strengthens the community’s digital communication capacity in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Indonesian economic theory in addressing the challenges of globalization and the digitalization of the national economy in a contemporary and strategically modern era. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using a literature review method by examining books, academic journals, government policy documents, and other relevant sources. This study highlights the role of Pancasila-based economic theory as the foundation of the national economic system in responding to global economic dynamics and rapid digital transformation. The findings indicate that globalization and digitalization present both opportunities and challenges for Indonesia’s economy, particularly in terms of competitiveness, economic sovereignty, and equitable welfare distribution. Conceptually, the implementation of Indonesian economic theory emphasizes the role of the state in regulating and safeguarding national interests; however, in practice, it faces obstacles such as unequal access to digital technology, the dominance of global economic actors, and limitations in adaptive regulatory frameworks. Therefore, innovative, inclusive, and nationally value-oriented economic policy strategies are required to ensure sustainable economic development amid globalization and digital transformation.
