Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) states that approximately 1 in 3 women worldwide have experienced physical or sexual violence during their lifetime. One preventative measure considered effective is gender-based education. This education emphasizes understanding equality between men and women, respect for individual rights, and awareness of the risks and prevention of sexual violence. The socialization approach, training, technology implementation, mentoring, and program sustainability methods ensure that community empowerment in preventing sexual violence can run effectively. The results of the analysis show that most respondents are in the category Tall , which indicates that gender-based education and counseling programs have had a positive influence on the knowledge, attitudes, and awareness of young people in preventing sexual violence. In addition to statistical data, pretest and posttest data were used to conduct the test analysis based on the results. Paired t-test, obtained valuep = 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference between scores before and after the education and counseling program. Respondents demonstrated a good understanding of the forms of sexual violence, the right to refuse unwanted touching, and the importance of seeking help when an incident of sexual violence occurs. It is recommended that this program be continued and expanded to other faculties or institutions.

Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) which is defined as a lack of protein and energy consumption is one of the factors causing maternal mortality. The Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in the world according to WHO (2019) is 303,000. The maternal mortality rate in ASEAN is 235 per 100,000 live births. The nutritional condition of pregnant women is influenced by several variables, namely food intake, maternal health conditions, gestational age, maternal activity, income, knowledge, cultural food taboos, pregnancy spacing and parity. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between eating habits and the nutritional status of pregnant women at the Kuta Padang Layung Health Center. This study describes the correlation using a cross-sectional method using quantitative data, sampling techniques using research instruments, food recall. The results showed that in 2023 the eating habits and nutritional status of pregnant women at the Kuta Padang Layung Health Center had a p-value of 0.000 (p <0.05). For the nutritional status of pregnant women, the majority are in the good category (69.4%), the highest energy intake (65.9%), the highest protein intake (76.5%), the highest carbohydrate intake (67.1%), the highest fat intake (90.6%), and the highest consumption frequency (71.8%) are all in the good category.

Abstract

Stunting is a nutritional problem that remains a public health challenge in Indonesia, including in rural areas with limited access to nutritious food. The use of local resources such as moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera), which are rich in nutrients and have natural galactagogue properties, is a potential strategy to support the health of breastfeeding mothers and efforts to prevent stunting. This community service activity aims to empower families, especially breastfeeding mothers, in the consumption of moringa-based local foods through an educational and participatory approach in Ibul Besar 1 Village, Ogan Ilir District. The methods used in this activity included nutrition and lactation education, training on processing moringa leaves into moringa leaf cookies, and the distribution of educational media in the form of booklets and leaflets entitled “Moringa, Mother's Friend - Natural Ways to Increase Breast Milk Production”. The program involved 40 breastfeeding mothers. An evaluation was conducted using pre-tests and post-tests on 40 respondents to measure changes in knowledge and attitudes. The results of the analysis showed an increase in knowledge in the good category from 57.5% to 92.5% and positive attitudes from 65.0% to 97.5%. The Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test showed that this increase was statistically significant (p<0.001). This community-based empowerment program effectively improves mothers' nutritional literacy and positive attitudes towards the use of moringa leaves, thereby potentially supporting lactation health and stunting prevention efforts at the family level. This intervention model can be adapted in other areas with similar moringa leaf potential.

Abstract

Health education activities are one of the promotive and preventive efforts in instilling the values of clean and healthy living behavior (CHLB) from an early age. In the context of implementing the community service program, an educational activity with the theme "Ayo Bersih, Ayo Sehat" was carried out at SDN 13 Rambang on May 26, 2025. The target of the activity was 44 students in grades 4 to 6 who were given learning through Participatory Learning and Action approach. The main focus of this activity is the introduction and direct practice of Washing Hands with Soap (HWWS) and sorting types of waste as part of healthy and environmentally friendly behavior. Students are given an explanation of the material using leaflets and demonstrations then invited to practice the six steps of HWWS using a decorative bucket facility specially designed for this activity. The HWWS song is also used to help students remember the stages of washing their hands more easily. In addition, an understanding of the types of waste is conveyed through interactive sticker map media, which makes it easier for students to classify organic, inorganic, and B3 waste. The results of the activity show that creative and interactive educational methods can improve students' knowledge and skills in maintaining personal and environmental hygiene. The high enthusiasm of students and the accuracy in practice indicate that learning involving visual media and direct activities is more effective in forming healthy behavior. Therefore, similar activities can be an applicable health education model in other elementary school environments
