Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the response of expired rice seeds to natural plant growth regulators (PGR) and different soaking durations in coconut water. The experiment used expired rice seeds and fresh young coconut water arranged in a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of six treatments with three replications. Data were analyzed using factorial analysis of variance followed by the Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) test. Results showed that coconut water concentrations of 10–30% combined with soaking durations of 2–6 hours did not significantly affect germination percentage, vigor index, germination rate, germination speed (P>0.05). However, soaking seeds for six hours indicated a tendency toward improved seed performance. Longer soaking periods enhanced water absorption, improved tissue hydration, and stimulated early metabolic activities necessary for germination. These findings suggest that extended soaking duration help restore physiological activity in expired seeds, although the treatments tested did not produce statistically significant differences.

Abstract

Green mustard is a leafy horticultural crop whose growth is strongly influenced by nutrient availability during the vegetative stage. This study aimed to analyze the effects of manure type and application rate on the growth and yield of green mustard and to determine the optimal treatment. The experiment was arranged in a two-factor Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), consisting of manure type (chicken, cattle, and goat manure) and manure rate (0, 12.5, 25, 37.5, and 50 g per polybag), with four replications. Observed parameters included plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, and fresh weight. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at the 5% level. The results showed that manure type and application rate had significant to highly significant effects on all observed parameters, with chicken manure at a rate of 37.5 g per polybag producing the best vegetative growth. These findings indicate that chicken manure applied at an optimal rate can effectively supply nutrients to support the growth of green mustard.

Abstract

This study sought to assess the impact of different hydroponic nutrient concentrations on the development and production of mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.) farmed via the Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) system, and to identify the best concentration level. The experiment was executed in a greenhouse situated in Seniung Jaya Village, Pasir Belengkong District, Paser Regency, throughout November to December 2025. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor was utilized, including four nutrient concentration treatments, each duplicated three times. The measured characteristics were plant height, leaf count, and fresh weight. Data were evaluated utilizing analysis of variance (ANOVA), succeeded by a Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at the 5% significance level upon detection of significant differences. The findings demonstrated that nutrition content significantly influenced all measured parameters. Six weeks post-transplantation, the treatment with the lowest concentration yielded the greatest measurements for plant height, leaf count, and fresh weight. Conversely, elevated nutrient concentrations often decreased plant growth and production. The data indicate that an ideal nutrient level exists for enhancing plant performance, whereas high nutrient concentrations may adversely impact growth. Nutrient balance is more crucial than excessive nutrient input in hydroponic growth systems.

Abstract

Penurunan viabilitas benih akibat proses penuaan selama penyimpanan menjadi kendala dalam budidaya hortikultura, termasuk terong ungu. Benih yang telah melewati masa simpan optimal mengalami degradasi fisiologis sehingga daya kecambah dan vigor awal tanaman menurun. Oleh karena itu, penggunaan zat pengatur tumbuh (ZPT) diperlukan untuk membantu mengaktifkan kembali proses metabolisme benih dan meningkatkan kemampuan perkecambahan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk meningkatkan viabilitas benih terong ungu kadaluarsa melalui teknik seed priming menggunakan ekstrak bahan alami sebagai sumber zat pengatur tumbuh alami. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Oktober–Desember 2025 menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dua faktor, yaitu jenis bahan invigorasi (air kelapa, ekstrak bawang merah, dan lidah buaya) serta konsentrasi (25% dan 50%) dengan tiga ulangan. Parameter yang diamati meliputi daya kecambah, waktu berkecambah, dan tinggi tanaman pada fase awal pertumbuhan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis bahan invigorasi berpengaruh nyata terhadap sebagian besar parameter pengamatan. Air kelapa menghasilkan daya kecambah tertinggi, ekstrak bawang merah meningkatkan vigor pertumbuhan awal, sedangkan lidah buaya mempercepat waktu berkecambah dan meningkatkan tinggi tanaman. Dengan demikian, ekstrak bahan alami berpotensi digunakan sebagai teknologi revitalisasi benih yang ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

Green eggplant seeds (Solanum melongena L.) have a relatively short storage life and are prone to deterioration in viability and vigor due to aging during storage. One approach to restore the physiological quality of expired seeds is seed invigoration using natural plant growth regulators (PGRs). This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of several natural PGR sources, namely coconut water, shallot extract, and aloe vera extract, as well as soaking duration, on the viability and early growth of expired green eggplant seeds. The experiment was conducted at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture and Digital Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur, using a factorial Randomized Block Design: type of invigoration material and soaking duration (2 and 4 hours), with three replications. Observed parameters included germination percentage, germination time, and seedling height at 7–10 days after planting (DAP). The results showed that invigoration materials and their interaction with soaking duration significantly to highly significantly affected most observed parameters. Aloe vera extract consistently produced the best results in accelerating germination and enhancing seedling height across all observation periods. These findings indicate that expired green eggplant seeds still possess recoverable physiological potential when treated with appropriate, low-cost, and environmentally friendly natural invigoration materials.

Abstract

Sebagai salah satu kelompok pemuda Islam terbesar di Indonesia, Pemuda Muhammadiyah memainkan peran penting dalam memanfaatkan kekuatan untuk mempromosikan prinsip-prinsip Islam dan membantu para anggotanya mencapai otonomi ekonomi.. Namun, tidak sedikit kader belum memiliki kompetensi dalam memproduksi konten kreatif Islami yang menarik dan efektif, serta minim dalam memproteksi peluang media digital sebagai sarana untuk berwirausaha. Metode yang digunakan adalah melalui sosialisasi langsung kepada kader Pemuda Muhammadiyah Kabupaten Paser, melibatkan Influencer lokal, melakukan praktik langsung pembuatan konten dan pendampingan dalam mengidentifikasi peluang monetisasi konten dan strategi pemasaran digital. Kegiatan ini berhasil memberikan pengetahuan dan kesadaran kader Pemuda Muhammadiyah terhadap potensi media digital sebagai sarana dakwah yang efektif dan alat untuk kemandirian ekonomi. Memahami pentingnya dakwah digital dan peluang usaha yang dapat diciptakan melalui konten Islami. Kader juga menunjukkan minat yang besar terhadap dari kegiatan ini. Memberikan peluang baru bagi kader Pemuda Muhammadiyah, terutama bagi mereka yang sebelumnya belum memiliki pengalaman dalam dakwah digital atau kewirausahaan berbasis digital. Terbentuk kelompok-kelompok kecil yang mulai memproduksi dan mempublikasikan konten secara mandiri.

Abstract

Buah naga termasuk tanaman kaktus dan memiliki kandungan yang bermanfaat untuk kesehatan sehingga permintaan pasar buah naga semakin meningkat. Sehingga produksi buah naga perlu ditingkatkan, dalam kondisi lahan yang terbatas dan perbanyakan yang membutuhkan waktu yang lama menjadikan kendala dalam perbanyakan buah naga. Penggunaan metode perbanyakan tanaman melalui kultur jaringan diharapkan dapat memenuhi kebutuhan permintaan pasar pada buah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi penggunaan media MS, suplemen Gandasil D dan interaksi keduanya dalam memaksimalkan pertumbuhan eksplan buah naga. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret sampai Mei 2025 di laboratorium kultur jaringan Fakultas Pertanian Dan Bisnis Digital, Universitas Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) 2 faktor dengan 4 kali ulangan. Terdapat 12 kombinasi dan 48 botol sampel, setiap botol berisi 5 biji buah naga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan media MS 1/6 + Gandasil D 1 g.L-1 menghasilkan pertumbuhan terbaik pada parameter tinggi tunas dan jumlah akar. Kata Kunci : In Vitro, Media MS, Gandasil D, Buah Naga

Abstract

Eggplant seeds that have deteriorated can still be utilized as planting material through invigoration treatment to improve viability and vigor. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of invigoration materials and soaking duration on the viability of expired eggplant seeds (Solanum melongena L.). The research employed a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two factors: invigoration materials consisting of air conditioning water (k1), 25% coconut water (k2), and 50% coconut water (k3); and soaking duration of 2 hours (l1), 4 hours (l2), and 6 hours (l3). Results showed that invigoration materials had a highly significant effect on the number of germinated seeds, germination time, sprout length, germination percentage, germination rate, and germination speed, while soaking duration significantly affected sprout length. The interaction between the two factors had no significant effect. The best treatment was 25% coconut water with 4 hours soaking, effectively invigorating expired eggplant seeds for use as planting material.
