Abstract

Abstract

Job loss remains a major source of stress for women, even if they have a partner who also works. As a mother, the psychological stress of losing a job role can have an impact on emotional and physical conditions, and can even increase the risk of pregnancy. Miscarriage is an emotionally challenging experience, both psychologically and physically for both parents. Self-acceptance is the psychological process of someone accepting and appreciating themselves as a whole, including their strengths, weaknesses, and all aspects of themselves. This study aims to explore the process of self-acceptance in a mother. The research subject with the initials ZZ, aged 54 years, is a mother who experienced a miscarriage due to stress caused by job loss. There are 3 informants, namely the subject's husband, the subject's close friend, and the subject's child. In the context of a mother who experienced a miscarriage due to stress due to job loss, self-acceptance has a very big influence on the challenges in her to face the problem. This study applies a qualitative method by conducting semi-structured interviews with a mother who experienced a miscarriage due to stress due to job loss. The results showed that the subject experienced emotional stress due to job loss and hunger. Through family support, a spiritual approach, and reconstruction of hope, the subject was able to accept the conditions she experienced. Subject self-acceptance is formed through self-understanding, realistic expectations, and a supportive environment.

Abstract

Background: Customer service employees operate in emotionally demanding environments characterized by high job demands, performance monitoring, and continuous interpersonal interaction. Such conditions potentially increase job stress and threaten psychological well-being. Objective: This study examines whether emotion regulation mediates the relationship between job stress and psychological well-being among customer service employees in Indonesia. Methods: A quantitative approach with a mediational correlational design was employed involving 258 customer service employees in Indonesia selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included a job stress scale, the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ), and the Psychological Well-Being (PWB) scale. Data analysis was conducted using path analysis via Hayes' PROCESS Macro Model 4. Results: Job stress was not significantly associated with psychological well-being (β = 0.0415, p > .05). Emotion regulation did not significantly predict psychological well-being and did not mediate the relationship between job stress and psychological well-being (95% CI [-0.0113, 0.0101]). Conclusion: The findings suggest that psychological well-being in this sector may be maintained by broader organizational and social resources rather than individual emotion regulation strategies alone.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a psychological instrument of family resilience using data derived from Indonesian samples based on a five-dimensional resilience scale: physical resilience, psychological resilience, economic resilience, social resilience, and religiosity resilience. Each dimension was measured with five items (25 items in total) on a 4-point Likert scale.  A total of 841 subjects (n = 841) were gathered through purposive sampling and were required to complete the questionnaire. Data were analysed using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and Rasch analysis, aimed at generating each item’s validity based on the formulated constructs. Results indicated that all item t-values exceeded 1.96 (t > 1.96), and the model’s statistical indices satisfied the criteria for unidimensionality and goodness of fit. According to the Rasch analysis, all items demonstrated good fit and a high Cronbach’s alpha reliability index. A newly developed family resilience measure for Indonesian populations demonstrates strong construct validity across all dimensions and items, including a unique dimension that recognises the role of religion in family coping. While promising for clinical and research use, further validation and cross-cultural studies are needed to address limitations related to purposive sampling and cultural specificity. These studies should employ longitudinal and cross-cultural designs to enhance generalizability. This will ensure that the instrument provides a robust measure of family resilience for diverse applications. Meanwhile, the limitation of the study is the need to conduct a standardised norming of the instrument.

Abstract

Teacher well-being is a critical issue in contemporary education, particularly in resource-limited schools that demand high levels of emotional regulation. Although reflective practice and emotion regulation have been widely studied, research on Islamic values-based psycho-spiritual microinterventions remains limited, especially qualitative studies that explore teachers’ lived experiences within the context of inclusive education in Indonesia. This study aims to explore brief reflective practices based on the Asmaul Husna Ar-Ra’ūf, Ar-Raḥīm, and Al-Wadūd as psycho-spiritual micro-interventions to support teachers’ emotional regulation and well-being. Employing a reflective phenomenological approach, this study involved six teachers from a dhu’afa school in Bali. Data were collected through reflective journals and in-depth interviews and analyzed using reflective thematic analysis. The findings identified four main themes: calming, gentle emotional regulation; rahmah, the strengthening of pedagogical care; love, the revitalization of professional meaning; and emotional recovery through enhanced spiritual awareness. These findings highlight the study’s original contribution by addressing a gap in the literature on contextual, low-cost, and easily integrated Islamic values-based micro-interventions to support teacher well-being in resource-limited educational settings. Keywords: Asmaul Husna, emotion regulation, psycho-spirituality, reflective practice, teacher well-being
