Abstract

This study aims to describe the persuasive language styles employed in the YouTube sermons of Sheikh Sa’ad Al-Shathri, Sheikh Dr. Malik Hussein Sha’ban, and Sheikh Uthman Al-Khamis, and to analyze the relationship between stylistic and rhetorical (balaghah) elements in enhancing the effectiveness of Arabic digital preaching. The study focuses on identifying forms of persuasive language, stylistic features that contribute to linguistic beauty and appeal, and rheto rical devices that strengthen preaching messages for audiences in the social media era. This research adopts a qualitative approach using a descriptive-analytical method. Primary data were obtained from the sermon videos of the three scholars available on YouTube, while secondary data were collected from books, scholarly journals, and relevant previous studies. Data were gathered through observation, note-taking, and documentation techniques. The analysis was conducted interactively through data reduction, classification, interpretation, and conclusion drawing, employing the perspectives of stylistics and balaghah. The findings reveal that persuasive language in Arabic digital preaching is constructed through a harmonious integration of stylistic and rhetorical elements. Sheikh Sa’ad Al-Shathri tends to employ a reflective and spiritual style, Sheikh Dr. Malik Hussein Sha’ban adopts an emotional and inspirational approach, while Sheikh Uthman Al-Khamis emphasizes argumentative and dialogical strategies. The identified stylistic elements include religious diction, repetition, and rhetorical questions, whereas the rhetorical devices consist of tasybih, isti‘arah, majaz and kinayah. These elements enhance message attractiveness, strengthen audience comprehension, and generate emotional, spiritual, and intellectual influence, thereby supporting the effectiveness of digital preaching through YouTube.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the recognition and pronunciation of hijaiyah letters among Class 1B students at Ar-Rifqi Integrated Islamic Elementary School using the Tilawati method, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors that influence the success of Qur’anic learning through the Tilawati method. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained from primary sources, namely teachers and students, and secondary sources in the form of learning documents. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was maintained through source triangulation to ensure valid and credible findings. The results showed that the implementation of the Tilawati method in Class 1B of MIT Ar-Rifqi was carried out through systematic lesson planning, the use of the Rost melody, the application of classical and individual techniques, and the utilization of learning media that supported the learning process. The implementation of this method demonstrated improvements in students’ ability to recognize the shapes of hijaiyah letters, distinguish letters with similar forms and sounds, and pronounce letters according to their correct makharijul huruf more accurately and fluently. The success of the learning process was supported by teacher competence, the use of engaging learning media, parental support, and regular reading practice. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors included differences in students’ abilities, the low learning concentration of some students, and limited instructional time.
