Abstract

Hospital-based health promotion services (PKRS) can impact a hospital's image. Although not explicitly impacted, hospitals must take development steps to achieve optimal hospital-based health promotion services. The purpose of this study is to provide a reference for the implementation of PKRS at Sawahlunto Regional Hospital by analyzing existing problems and providing solutions, work plans, and monitoring and evaluation plans. This qualitative study used internal hospital document analysis, retrospective field observations, and critical reflection on the processes and obstacles encountered directly in implementing PKRS at Sawahlunto Regional Hospital. The results indicate that the implementation of hospital-based health promotion services at Sawahlunto Regional Hospital is still suboptimal because the person responsible for implementing PKRS has only recently been established under the name PKRS Unit, the PKRS work program is still limited, and internal problems exist, such as limited human resources, funding, and facilities and infrastructure. Based on this research, it is necessary to optimize PKRS supported by the leadership, owners, staff, and stakeholders in the hope of providing comprehensive health services to the community

Abstract

Hydrometeorological disasters in West Sumatra have disrupted the fulfillment of basic community needs and contributed to low levels of preparedness in facing emergency situations. This community service activity aims to optimize the utilization of family-based survival kits to enhance preparedness and resilience among disaster-affected communities in Padang City and Padang Pariaman Regency. The method employed a participatory approach, including needs assessment, distribution of survival kits, education on their use, and simple monitoring. The survival kits provided consisted of flashlights, stoves and regulators, rice cookers, boots, evacuation ropes, raincoats, and tarpaulins. The results showed that the community was able to understand the functions and proper use of the survival kits and utilize them to meet basic needs during emergency conditions. In addition, there was an improvement in awareness and preparedness behavior at the family level. The program also contributed to increasing the sense of security and adaptive capacity of the community in facing disasters. Therefore, optimizing family-based survival kits can be considered an effective approach to strengthening preparedness and resilience among disaster-affected communities.
