Abstract

One of the skills in learning English is writing. Writing gives a picture of what a person wants to convey to others who read it. In writing, of course, there are rules that must be followed for the writer so that people can understand the purpose of his writing. This research uses qualitative methods. Based on the results of 32 student writings, it shows that in the very high category there are 10 students, in the high category there are 21 students, in the low category there is 1 student. And there are no students in the moderate and very low categories. Thus, the placement of generic structure and linguistic spec in students' invitation letter writing is very good.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively examine the concept of readiness in learning, the factors influencing it, its formation principles, and the role of maturity, environment, or culture in contributing to learning readiness. Learning readiness is defined as the physical and mental state of an individual prepared to respond in order to achieve specific learning objectives. This concept serves as a crucial foundation for the success of the learning process. This research employs a library research method, collecting information from various books and relevant articles. The gathered data is then qualitatively analyzed to understand the concept of learning readiness and its effectiveness in enhancing student comprehension and engagement. The findings indicate that learning readiness is influenced by physical factors (health and energy), psychological factors (intelligence, high recall, motivation, concentration, and attention), material factors (availability of learning resources), and experience (memory of past events). The principles of readiness formation involve the interaction of all developmental aspects, physical and spiritual maturity, the positive influence of experiences, and the formation of basic readiness during specific periods. Cognitive, emotional, social, physical, and moral-ethical maturity are important foundations contributing to effective learning ability. Furthermore, a supportive and positive environment or culture plays a significant role in fostering motivation and willingness to learn. A comprehensive understanding of these aspects is expected to optimize the learning process.
