Abstract

This study aims to analyze gender relations in the interactions between male and female students on campus by referring to the interpretation of hadiths and the accompanying social dynamics. The method used is descriptive qualitative through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using Fatema Mernissi’s theoretical approach, which emphasizes criticism of patriarchal structures and the authority of hadith interpretation. The results of the study show that there are two patterns of hadith interpretation among students, namely textual and contextual. Textual interpretation tends to be used to legitimize hierarchical divisions of social roles and to position men as leaders, while contextual interpretation encourages equality and collaborative relations in both academic and organizational interactions. Social interaction on campus also shows the existence of spatial separation and restricted communication that is internalized especially among women, influenced by cultural norms and uncritical religious understanding. However, there are also spaces of resistance through female leadership that is dialogical and collaborative. This study affirms the importance of strengthening contextual hadith literacy and establishing an inclusive campus culture as steps toward just and equal gender relations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Islamic higher education through the perspective of the Methodology of Scientific Research Programmes developed by Imre Lakatos. This approach is employed to understand how the epistemological structure of Islamic education can be developed progressively without losing the revelatory values as its fundamental core. The study adopts a qualitative method with a library research design, in which data are collected from various literature sources such as books, journals, and relevant scholarly works. The findings indicate that the application of the concepts of hard core, protective belt, and a series of theories within Islamic higher education can serve as a methodological framework that maintains a balance between the Islamic intellectual tradition and modern scientific innovation. Through Lakatos’s approach, Islamic higher education is expected to develop research that is progressive, rational, and grounded in spiritual values, thereby enabling it to respond to the challenges of globalization and digitalization without losing its epistemological identity. Accordingly, Lakatos’s research programme methodology has the potential to become a new paradigm in the development of Islamic epistemology that is dynamic, adaptive, and sustainable.

Abstract

This study discusses the use of Quick Response (QR) Code technology in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at senior high schools as an innovative strategy to improve the effectiveness and quality of the learning process. The study employs a literature review method by analyzing various national and international research related to the application of QR Codes in education. The findings show that integrating QR Codes enables teachers to present Islamic Religious Education materials such as Qur’anic verses, hadiths, explanatory videos, and discussion resources in a varied, interactive, and easily accessible way anytime and anywhere. The use of QR Code based media has been proven effective in enhancing students’ motivation, learning outcomes, creativity, and critical thinking skills. In addition, this technology supports character development and independent learning aligned with the demands of 21st-century education. Thus, implementing QR Codes in Islamic Religious Education learning has the potential to be a relevant, practical, and adaptive approach to enriching students’ learning experiences and supporting the achievement of Islamic education goals in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to map the development of research on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in Islamic Religious Education through bibliometric analysis using R Biblioshiny. The data were obtained from the Scopus database covering the 2015–2025 period and were selected using the PRISMA flow, resulting in 28 relevant articles. The analysis focused on publication productivity, citations, authors, institutional affiliations, keywords, and research collaboration networks. The findings indicate that publications on HOTS in Islamic Religious Education increased significantly, particularly during the 2021–2025 period, reflecting growing academic attention toward the development of higher-order thinking skills in Islamic education learning. Affiliation mapping revealed the dominance of universities in Malaysia and Indonesia as the main centers of HOTS research development. Keyword analysis showed that the studies mainly focused on active learning strategies, curriculum strengthening, and HOTS-based assessment. However, this study has several limitations, including the limited number of articles, the use of a single database, the absence of thematic map analysis, and limitations in the search keywords. Therefore, future studies are recommended to expand data sources and develop more comprehensive bibliometric analyses to provide broader and deeper insights into HOTS research in Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan pendekatan deep learning dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam di SMP Negeri 1 Tulung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi lapangan melalui observasi, wawancara dengan guru dan peserta didik, serta dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan deep learning dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dilakukan melalui penggunaan metode pembelajaran yang variatif seperti audio visual, problem based learning, dan inkuiri yang mendorong peserta didik untuk berpikir kritis, berdiskusi, serta memahami makna materi secara lebih mendalam. Pembelajaran tidak hanya berfokus pada aspek kognitif, tetapi juga menekankan pada penguatan nilai-nilai karakter seperti kepedulian sosial, toleransi, dan pengamalan ajaran Islam dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, khususnya pada materi zakat, penyembelihan kurban, dan akikah. Selain itu, guru juga berperan aktif dalam memberikan motivasi serta teladan agar peserta didik mampu menginternalisasi nilai-nilai keislaman secara praktis. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan deep learning mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual, keterlibatan belajar, serta pembentukan karakter religius dan sosial peserta didik dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam.
