Abstract

Poverty alleviation requires a sustainable multidimensional strategy encompassing empowerment, welfare, and investment. This study applies the Analytic Network Process (ANP) to evaluate poverty reduction strategies in Tasikmalaya City, Indonesia. Data were collected through pairwise comparisons from experts and analyzed using the SuperDecisions software. The results indicate that Entrepreneurship Empowerment is the top priority (34.7%), followed by Social Security (29.0%), Regional Investment (24.8%), and Provision of Basic Needs (11.5%). Sensitivity analysis confirms the consistency of results, where empowerment remains dominant under various parameter scenarios. The novelty of this study lies in integrating empowerment and welfare strategies with contextual sub-criteria in a city-level ANP model. These findings support Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 1) and emphasize empowerment as the foundation for sustainable poverty alleviation in Indonesia. Abstract

Abstract

Measuring regional development through the Human Development Index (HDI) carries an inherent limitation: its composite structure tends to smooth over disparities that persist at the sub-provincial level, especially in health. Drawing on a balanced panel of 27 districts and cities in West Java (2019–2023, N = 135), this paper examines whether four operational health inputs—sanitation coverage, national health insurance enrolment (JKN/BPJS), self-reported morbidity, and child undernutrition—translate into measurable HDI differences across time within each district. Secondary data from BPS, BPJS Kesehatan, and the Ministry of Health were analysed with a fixed-effect estimator, chosen following Chow and Hausman specification tests; robust standard errors clustered at the district level correct for heteroskedasticity and serial correlation. JKN/BPJS enrolment exerts the strongest influence (β = 0.273, p < 0.01), while child undernutrition consistently depresses HDI (β = −0.011, p < 0.01). Sanitation reaches significance but its within-district coefficient is unexpectedly negative; morbidity is negative yet statistically insignificant. Together the regressors account for roughly 45 per cent of within-district HDI movement. Accelerating JKN utilisation quality and multi-sectoral undernutrition programmes emerge as the highest-leverage entry points for local governments seeking to advance human development in West Java.

Abstract

This study aims to identify basic and non-basic sectors, analyze competitive and less competitive sectors, and determine leading sectors in Gunungkidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta Province. The study uses secondary data in the form of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Gunungkidul Regency and GRDP of Yogyakarta Special Region Province for the period 2021–2025 obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Yogyakarta Special Region Province. The analysis was conducted using the Static Location Quotient (SLQ), Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ), and overlay analysis methods. The results of the SLQ analysis indicate that there are seven basic sectors in Gunungkidul Regency, namely the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector; the mining and quarrying sector; the water supply, waste management, and recycling sector; the wholesale and retail trade sector; the transportation and warehousing sector; the government administration, defense, and mandatory social security sector; and other service sectors. Meanwhile, the results of the DLQ analysis indicate that there are twelve sectors that have competitive capabilities, namely the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector; mining and quarrying sector; manufacturing industry sector; water supply, waste management, waste, and recycling sector; wholesale and retail trade sector; information and communication sector; financial services and insurance sector; real estate sector; corporate services sector; education services sector; health services and social activities sector; and other service sectors. Based on the results of the overlay analysis, it can be concluded that Gunungkidul Regency has five leading sectors, namely the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector; mining and quarrying sector; water supply, waste management, waste, and recycling sector; wholesale and retail trade sector; and other service sectors.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and identify internal and external factors that affect village revenue with a case study of North Tasikmalaya including Sukaratu, Cisayong, Sukahening, Rajapolah, Jamanis, Ciawi, Sukaresik, Pagerangeung, and Kadipaten sub-districts. The method used in this research is a quantitative approach to primary data with data collection techniques using questionnaires. This research sampling technique uses Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. The data analysis method uses the Structure Equation Model-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) through 3 analyses: outer model, inner model, and hypothesis testing. The results showed that human resource capacity and government policy significantly influenced village revenue. Meanwhile, community participation, accessibility, and infrastructure do not influence village revenue. The lack of community participation is due to the community's indifference in advancing the village. Accessibility and infrastructure are also strategic issues that not all villages have adequate access and infrastructure so that regional economic development is not optimal.
