Abstract

This research identifies the role of artificial intelligence (AI)-based applications in improving the efficiency of administrative and secretarial work in various organisational sectors. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach supported by exploratory qualitative analysis to explore trends in AI usage as well as perceptions, experiences, and challenges faced by administrative and secretarial professionals in adopting the technology. Data were collected through a nationally distributed online questionnaire during the period Augustus to December 2024, and analysed descriptively on 26 respondents who met the inclusion criteria. The results are clear: AI applications such as ChatGPT, Grammarly and Notion AI are being used to complete routine tasks like document writing, scheduling and information management. AI is proven to improve time efficiency, work accuracy, and the quality of administrative communication. However, it is crucial to acknowledge the challenges that have been identified, including limited digital literacy, concerns about AI accuracy, and the need for adequate training. This research definitively shows that an adaptive and inclusive AI adoption strategy, supported by institutional policies that encourage the strengthening of digital competencies of administrative personnel across sectors, is vital.

Abstract

In today’s era of globalization, digital transformation, and increasingly competitive job markets, high school (SMA) and vocational school (SMK) students are expected to excel not only in academics but also in essential life skills. Abilities such as managing digital information and communicating professionally are now critical assets for building a career and achieving independence. Unfortunately, many graduates still face a gap between the skills they have and what the professional world requires. For instance, they often lack proficiency in productive digital tools like Microsoft Excel and have little awareness of the importance of developing a personal digital brand through platforms such as LinkedIn or professional email. To address this gap, the Professional Life Skills Training program was introduced as a strategic initiative to help SMAK St. Louis 2 students grow holistically and strengthen their future competitiveness. This training goes beyond teaching technical skills; it also fosters the mindset and attitudes needed to thrive in the 21st-century workplace.

Abstract

The elderly are a group vulnerable to being left behind in the adoption of information technology. This study aims to develop a more comprehensive understanding of how interpersonal communication can strengthen digital literacy through digital education among the elderly. It employs Braun & Clarke’s thematic analysis method to examine data from interviews with facilitators and participants of the *Akademi Digital Lansia* (ADL)—or Elderly Digital Academy. The program engaged older adults across 38 provinces, reaching 10,208 individuals nationwide. Research informants were selected from Aceh, West Kalimantan, West Java, East Nusa Tenggara, South Sulawesi, and North Maluku. The study identifies five key themes in digital literacy learning among the elderly: emotional closeness, the facilitator as a mediator, small-group discussions, social support, and the sustained transfer of digital values. This research offers a novel perspective by positioning interpersonal communication not merely as a tool for education, but also as a mechanism for information filtering and a means to strengthen the digital community of the elderly. The findings demonstrate that digital literacy is fostered through the development of relationships that are empathetic, participatory, and community-based.
