Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the digitalization of Islamic philanthropy through zakat and waqf fundraising platforms and assess its compliance with the principles of transparency (al-syafāfiyyah) and accountability (mas’ūliyyah) within the framework of Islamic economic law and maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah.Design/Methodology: This study employs a qualitative library research design with a juridical-normative approach. It employs a conceptual and legal approach by examining primary sources, including the Quran, Hadith, fatwas of the National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI), and related regulations, as well as secondary sources such as academic literature and previous research related to Islamic philanthropy and crowdfunding practices.Findings: The findings indicate that the digitalization of Islamic philanthropy through crowdfunding platforms is permissible under Islamic law, provided it meets essential sharia requirements, including clear contractual arrangements (akad), transparent information disclosure, accountability for fund distribution, and effective sharia oversight. However, challenges remain regarding standardized reporting mechanisms, oversight models, and the alignment of digital practices with the principles of trustworthiness and justice (‘adl). Adherence to these principles ensures the realization of benefits to society (maslahah) and the maintenance of the community's trust.Practical Implications: This study highlights the importance of strengthening the regulatory framework, enhancing sharia governance, and developing standardized transparency and accountability mechanisms for zakat and waqf fundraising platforms. These measures support sustainable digital philanthropy and strengthen public trust in Islamic social financial institutions.Originality/Value: This study provides a normative legal analysis of digital zakat and waqf fundraising platforms from the perspective of Islamic economic law, offering a structured evaluation framework based on the principles of transparency, accountability, and maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah in the digital era

Abstract

This study aims to explore and analyze Gus Dur’s perspective on the relationship between humans and nature within the framework of humanistic Islamic ecotheology. Using a qualitative approach with a library research method, this study examines Gus Dur’s works such as Islamku, Islam Anda, Islam Kita and Pribumisasi Islam, as well as supporting literature on environmental theology and humanistic ethics. The analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques and a contextual hermeneutic approach to uncover the spiritual, moral, and social values embedded in Gus Dur’s ideas. The findings reveal that Gus Dur’s ecotheological thought emphasizes three main pillars: the consciousness of tawhid that positions nature as a sign of God’s greatness, the human responsibility of khalifah toward environmental preservation, and the principle of universal humanity based on compassion (rahmah).

Abstract

Alisjahbana is an Indonesian thinker who focuses on the concept of values as an important foundation for modernization, as well as the challenges faced in implementing modern values amid the dominance of traditional values. The method used is a descriptive analytical study of literary works, particularly novels, to illustrate the conflict between traditional and modern values, as well as to offer adaptation solutions. The result of this study is a deeper understanding of the challenges and gaps that arise in the implementation of Alisjahbana’s ideal values in Indonesian society. The discussion concludes that collective efforts from all parties, including public policy reform and holistic education, are needed to address the gap between ideal values and their practical implementation in society.

Abstract

Ideally, Islamic education should develop dynamically in response to contemporary changes while maintaining its theological foundations derived from the Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the intellectual legacy of classical Muslim scholars. However, the current reality reveals persistent dichotomies between religious and secular knowledge, weak integration of theological values into educational practices, and limited reinterpretation of the classical heritage in addressing global challenges such as globalization, the digital revolution, artificial intelligence (AI), and moral crises. This study aims to examine the genealogy of the theology of education in Islam, analyze its transformation within contemporary educational contexts, and formulate a theological paradigm capable of responding to global challenges. This research employs a qualitative library research approach using content analysis of primary and secondary sources. The findings indicate that reinterpreting the values of tawḥīd, khilāfah, amānah, 'ilm, adab, and maqāṣid al-sharī'ah provides an integrative, adaptive, and contextual paradigm for Islamic education. This paradigm integrates spiritual, intellectual, moral, social, and technological dimensions, enabling Islamic education to preserve its theological identity while effectively contributing to sustainable global civilization.

Abstract

Islam ideally positions employment relations within principles of justice, trust, and respect for workers’ dignity. However, contemporary wage practices continue to face problems such as delayed payments, inadequate wages, unequal bargaining positions, and limited worker protection. This study aims to analyze the concept of wages (ujrah) from the perspective of Islamic theology and reconstruct the meaning of the prophetic tradition instructing employers to pay workers before their sweat dries as an ethical principle of wage justice. This study employs a qualitative library research method using theological-ethical and conceptual analysis. Primary sources consist of the Qur’an and Hadith, while secondary sources include books, journal articles, and previous studies on ujrah, Islamic jurisprudence, and wage justice. The findings demonstrate that wage payment is not merely a contractual obligation but also a religious trust and moral responsibility reflecting justice and respect for workers’ dignity. This study contributes to the development of ujrah studies by shifting the discussion from a purely contractual-jurisprudential approach toward a theological-ethical framework emphasizing justice, adequacy, timely payment, and worker protection.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the phenomenon of radical shaming that has become prevalent ahead of the Aceh local elections, as well as the urgency of religious moderation in instilling ethical values on social media. Radical shaming refers to the practice of labeling certain individuals or groups as radical as a political tool to discredit them, particularly in Aceh, a region with a history of conflict and complex religious dynamics. This article falls under library research with a qualitative approach. The methodology used is descriptive analysis. The research findings conclude two main points. First, radical shaming has proven to be a tactic that exacerbates political and social polarization in Aceh, not only intensifying political competition but also undermining social cohesion. Second, the urgency of promoting ethical moderation through official institutions is crucial in preventing the spread of slander and disinformation on social media. Through a more structured and authoritative moderation approach, Aceh is expected to foster a more ethical and harmonious public sphere in the context of religion and politics.
