Abstract

Premature infants are at high risk of experiencing physiological instability due to organ immaturity, especially in the regulation of body temperature, respiration, and the cardiovascular system. One of the main interventions in the care of premature infants is the use of an incubator. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of incubator use on the physiological stability of premature infants. The research method used was a quantitative study with an analytical observational design. The subjects were premature infants treated in the perinatology ward. The physiological parameters observed included body temperature, respiratory rate, and heart rate. The results showed that the use of an incubator significantly helped maintain the physiological stability of premature infants. Thus, an incubator is an effective and essential tool in the care of premature infants to improve physiological stability and prevent further complications.

Abstract

Relaxation is a non-pharmacological intervention that is effective in reducing anxiety and physiological tension. Finger relaxation techniques relaxation the finger relaxation technique is a simple method that utilizes controlled touch and breathing stimulation to reduce stress responses. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the finger relaxation technique as a non-pharmacological intervention in nursing care to reduce patient anxiety. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest - posttest approach. without control group. The sample consisted of 35 patients with mild to moderate anxiety. Anxiety was measured using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). The results showed a significant decrease in anxiety scores from 21.4 ± 4.2 to 13.2 ± 3.8 (p < 0.001). It was concluded that finger relaxation techniques were effective as a nursing intervention in reducing patient anxiety.

Abstract

Infertility is a reproductive health problem that impacts the biological, psychological, and social aspects of couples of childbearing age (PUS). Various factors such as age, body mass index (BMI), history of infection, hormonal disorders, and lifestyle are suspected to play a role in the occurrence of infertility. This study aims to analyze the risk factors for infertility in couples of childbearing age using a multivariate approach. The study used a case-control design with a sample of 120 respondents (60 infertility cases and 60 fertile controls). Data were collected through structured interviews and medical record reviews. Analysis was performed using multiple logistic regression to determine the dominant risk factors. The results showed that the wife's age ≥35 years (OR=3.8; p=0.002), a history of reproductive tract infections (OR=4.5; p=0.001), an abnormal BMI (OR=2.9; p=0.010), and the husband's smoking habit (OR=3.2; p=0.005) were significant risk factors for infertility. The dominant factor was a history of reproductive tract infections. It is concluded that infertility is multifactorial and requires a comprehensive approach in its prevention and treatment.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Pain is a physiological and psychological response often experienced by patients due to trauma, inflammation, or medical procedures. Non-pharmacological therapies such as ice compresses (cold therapy) are widely used as simple interventions to reduce pain. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of cold therapy in reducing pain intensity in patients. The study used a quasi-independent design. experiment with a pretest – posttest approach without control group . A sample of 40 patients with complaints of mild to moderate acute pain was selected using purposive sampling. Pain intensity was measured using Numeric Rating Pain Scale (NRS) before and after applying ice compresses for 15 minutes. Data analysis used a paired t- test . The results showed a significant decrease in pain scores from 6.2 ± 1.1 to 3.4 ± 1.0 (p < 0.001). It was concluded that cold therapy is effective in reducing pain intensity and can be used as a supporting intervention in pain management. Abstract

Handwashing with soap (HWWS) is a clean and healthy lifestyle behavior that is effective in preventing various infectious diseases such as diarrhea and respiratory tract infections. School-age children are a group that is vulnerable to disease due to lack of hygiene practices. Health promotion in schools is an important strategy to improve HWWS behavior in children. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of health promotion on handwashing with soap behavior in school children. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest - posttest approach. The study sample was 60 elementary school students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through observation and questionnaires on HWWS behavior before and after health promotion. Data analysis used a paired t- test. The results showed a significant increase in HWWS behavior from an average score of 56.4 ± 9.2 to 78.6 ± 8.5 after the health promotion intervention (p < 0.001). It was concluded that health promotion is effective in improving handwashing with soap behavior in school children.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Early pregnancy in adolescents is a health problem influenced by various psychological factors, including self-efficacy and attitude. Self-efficacy plays a role in shaping an individual's belief in their ability to avoid risky behavior, while attitude reflects behavioral tendencies towards reproductive health. This study aims to analyze the role of self-efficacy and attitude in preventing early pregnancy in adolescents through reproductive health education. This study used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach . A sample of 110 respondents was selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that self-efficacy (β = 0.45; p < 0.001) and attitude (β = 0.32; p < 0.01) significantly influenced early pregnancy prevention behavior, with self-efficacy as the most dominant factor. Reproductive health education has been shown to improve both variables. In conclusion, increasing self-efficacy and positive attitudes through education is an important strategy in preventing early pregnancy in adolescents.
