Abstract

Jalan Jenderal Sudirman adalah salah satu ruas jalan di Kota Gorontalo yang memiliki volume kendaraan yang besar. Keadaan ini diperparah oleh banyaknya kendaraan yang parkir di sepanjang badan jalan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kinerja dari ruas Jalan Jendral Sudirman akibat adanya parkir di badan jalan. Dalam penelitian ini MKJI 1997 digunakan sebagai pedoman dalam menganalisis kinerja ruas jalan. Penelitian ini dilangsungkan selama 3 hari yaitu hari Selasa, 11 Juni 2024, Jumat, 14 Juni 2024, dan Sabtu, 15 Juni 2024. Hasil kondisi eksisting yang didapatkan yaitu tingkat pelayanan jalan terburuk terdapat pada hari Selasa, 11 Juni 2024 dengan nilai derajat kejenuhan sebesar 0,58 dan masuk pada kategori tingkat pelayanan jalan C, serta pada kondisi jika tidak terdapat parkir di badan jalan tingkat pelayanan meningkat menjadi 0,30 dan masuk pada kategori B. Hasil ini menunjukan bahwa kegiatan parkir di badan jalan sangat berpengaruh pada optimalnya kinerja ruas jalan.

Abstract

The Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie Road, which underwent improvements compared to the previous year, has not yet experienced traffic congestion. However, with increasing vehicles, congestion will likely occur in the coming years. Objective: To analyze the road characteristics, including geometric features, speed, travel time, traffic volume, and composition; road performance, free-flow speed, density, road capacity, degree of saturation, and level of service; and simulation results using VISSIM software. Methodology: The study utilized both primary and secondary data. Primary data were collected through field observations, while secondary data were sourced from journals, books, and government agencies. Results: The analysis shows the highest traffic volume occurs on Tuesdays between 16:00-17:00, with a total volume of 2,710 vehicles/hour or 1,117.8 passenger car units (PCU)/hour, predominantly consisting of motorcycles (82.32%), followed by sedans (11.77%), passenger vehicles (0.01%), pickup trucks (4.78%), small and large buses (0.19%), two-axle trucks with 4 and 6 wheels (0.92%), and articulated trucks (0.01%). Conclusion: The performance analysis of the Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie Road in Bone Bolango Regency, utilizing the PKJI (Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual) 2023 method, reveals a free-flow speed of 46.269 km/h, a traffic density of 2.08 vehicles/hour/m, a road capacity of 1,484 PCU/hour, degree of saturation of “0.38” indicates a stable flow with very good condition and is categorized as A. Then, the level of service D is observable from vehicles speed according to the Government Regulations of 2015

Abstract

The signalized intersection of Jalan Raja Eyato - Moh. Yamin A.R. Koniyo serves as a connection between commercial areas, tourist attractions, fast-food restaurant zones, and religious sites. As a result, this intersection experiences heavy traffic flow. Additionally, its asymmetric/weaving geometric design extends travel time from one approach to another. This study aims to evaluate the intersection's performance and level of service using the Indonesian Highway Capacity Guidelines (PKJI) 2023 and simulation modeling with PTV Vissim Student Version. The analysis results based on PKJI 2023 show the delay values as follows: Jalan Moh. Yamin at 49 seconds with level of service E, Jalan A.R. Koniyo at 38,1 seconds with level of service D, Jalan Raja Eyato (west) at 49,5 seconds with level of service E, and Jalan Raja Eyato (east) at 33,6 seconds with level of service D. The average intersection delay is 37 seconds, classified as level of service D. Meanwhile, the simulation results using PTV Vissim Student Version indicate delay values of 73,4 seconds with level of service E for Jalan Moh. Yamin, 72 seconds with level of service E for Jalan A.R. Koniyo, 46,3 seconds with level of service D for Jalan Raja Eyato (west), and 27,8 seconds with level of service C for Jalan Raja Eyato (east), with an average intersection delay of 54,5 seconds with level of service D. Four alternative solutions were proposed to improve the intersection's performance. The best solution is Alternative 2. which reduced signal phases four to three. This adjustment reduced delays by approximately 33% compared to current conditions, without requiring additional infrastructure costs.

Abstract

Bricks are artificial stones made from clay, with or without additional materials, dried and fired at high temperatures to achieve durability. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of sediment from the dredging of Lake Limboto, determine the optimal mixture composition of sediment and clay for brick production, assess the compressive strength of bricks using this mixture, and outline the brick-making process. The research utilizes primary data collected through field surveys, interviews, and observations in Ilohungayo Village, Batudaa District, Gorontalo Regency. After molding and drying, compressive strength tests were conducted on different sample compositions. The results indicate that sediment-based bricks have lower water content than clay-based ones. In Sample I, the highest water content (77.9%) was observed in a 50% sediment and 50% clay mixture, while the lowest (35.9%) was in 100% clay. In Sample II, the highest water content (79.1%) was in 100% clay, while the lowest (34.1%) was in a 70% sediment and 30% clay mixture. Compressive strength tests revealed that all samples fell below the SNI 15-2094-2000 standard for red bricks but met the SNI 03-0349-1989 standard for concrete bricks, classified as class III and IV solid bricks. The study concludes that incorporating Limboto Lake sediment into brick production enhances cost-effectiveness and sustainability by reducing sediment accumulation in the lake while producing stable and economical bricks.

Abstract

On-street parking often occurs due to limited parking spaces, especially in high-activity areas. Nani Wartabone 1 Street (formerly Pandjaitan Street) experiences significant side friction, particularly from parking activities, impacting road performance. This study evaluates the street’s performance under these conditions using field data collection and analysis based on the MKJI 1997 guidelines. Data were collected on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Traffic flow recorded was 1,124 vehicles per hour on Monday, 1,146 vehicles per hour on Wednesday, and 1,341 vehicles per hour on Saturday. The degree of saturation (DS) due to on-street parking was 0.59, 0.56, and 0.52, respectively, placing the road service level in category C. Without on-street parking, the service level improved to category B, with DS values of 0.44, 0.41, and 0.39, respectively. These results indicate that on-street parking negatively affects road performance. The highest parking accumulation occurred between 8:00–9:00 PM on Saturday, June 15, 2024, reaching 130 vehicles per hour. The parking index exceeded 100% for cars, indicating insufficient parking space, while motorcycle parking remained fully occupied. These findings highlight the need for better parking management to improve traffic conditions on Nani Wartabone 1 Street.

Abstract

Jenderal Sudirman road is one of the main road in Gorontalo City with a high traffic volume. This condition is worsened by the presence of on-street parking, which disrupts traffic flow and reduces road performance. This study aims to evaluate the impact of on-street parking on the performance of Jenderal Sudirman Road using the 1997 Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (MKJI 1997) as a reference. Data collection was conducted over three days: Tuesday, June 11, 2024, Friday, June 14, 2024, and Saturday, June 15, 2024. The analysis of existing conditions shows that the worst road service level occurred on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, with a degree of saturation of 0.58, categorized as service level C, indicating moderate traffic density with limited speed. However, in the absence of on-street parking, the service level improves significantly to a degree of saturation of 0.30, classified as service level B. These findings confirm that on-street parking significantly impacts the efficiency and optimal performance of road sections. Therefore, strict parking management strategies are recommended to improve traffic flow and enhance road service levels in Gorontalo City.

Abstract

Transportation plays a crucial role in supporting daily human activities, with significant impacts on economic, social, and environmental aspects. In Gorontalo City, one of the main challenges is traffic congestion, particularly along Prof. DR. H.B. Jassin Street, which experiences high mobility due to diverse land use functions. This condition highlights the need to examine the extent to which land use influences travel attraction on this corridor. The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of land use variables—including building area, number of employees, and number of visitors—on travel attraction along Prof. DR. H.B. Jassin Street. The research employed field observations, surveys, and quantitative analysis using multiple linear regression with SPSS software. The results indicate that all three independent variables significantly affect travel attraction, with building area emerging as the most dominant factor in explaining variations in travel demand. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination shows that the regression model is capable of explaining most of the variations in travel attraction. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating land use considerations into urban transportation planning. Consequently, the study recommends the need for stricter land use management, improved transportation systems, and better road infrastructure arrangements to reduce traffic congestion while enhancing the quality of the urban environment in a more sustainable manner.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kondisi perkerasan jalan menggunakan metode Surface Distress Index (SDI) dan International Roughness Index (IRI), serta memberikan rekomendasi penanganan yang tepat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada ruas Jalan Rusli Datau kerusakan paling banyak berupa tambalan, retak dan lubang, Sedangkan pada Ruas Jalan Tapa–Atinggola kerusakan berupa pelepasan butiran, retak,  tambalan, dan lubang. Hasil pengukuran SDI dan IRI masing – masing sebesar 11.59 dan 2.11 untuk Jalan Rusli Datau, serta 18.00 dan 2.44 untuk ruas Jalan Tapa–Atinggola, menunjukan kondisi perkerasan dalam kategori baik (SDI <50, IRI <4). Meskipun demikian, pemeliharaan rutin tetap diperlukan untuk mempertahankan kinerja struktural fungsional jalan serta mencegah penurunan kondisi. Kegiatan pemeliharaan yang dianjurkan meliputi pemotongan tumbuhan liar, penambalan permukaan, dan pengisian retak (sealing), guna menjamin kenyamanan dan keselamatan pengguna jalan. Penelitian ini memberikan dasar ilmiah untuk perencanaan pemeliharaan jalan secara efektif dan berkelanjutan. Kata Kunci: metode Surface Distress Index (SDI), International Roughness Index (IRI), pemeliharaan rutin
