Abstract

The phenomenon of increasing academic pressure in schools has normalized toxic productivity as the ideal identity of students. A culture of meritocracy and excessive competition forces students to constantly pursue productivity without considering mental well-being. This study aims to analyze sociologically how school culture shapes and legitimizes performative pressures that negatively impact students' emotional health. The method used is a systematic literature review with a qualitative approach based on the perspective of educational sociology and critical sociology. Data sources were obtained from relevant journal articles, academic books, research reports, and conference proceedings, especially publications of th years, through searches on Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science, and DOAJ. The analysis process is carried out thematically and narratively to identify conceptual patterns, using the theoretical framework of Pierre Bourdieu and Michel Foucault. The results show that the ranking system, high expectations, and emphasis on academic achievement create a competitive atmosphere that triggers chronic stress, anxiety, and identity crises among students. The role of teachers and schools as agents of normalization reinforces this cycle, often unconsciously. In conclusion, a more balanced transformation of the educational paradigm is needed by emphasizing mindful learning, psychosocial support, and policies that prioritize students' mental health holistically. e last ten

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between language, political polarization, and political identity expression in social media through a digital sociology approach. Using a systematic literature review method, this study analyzes various relevant scientific works in the last ten years. The main focus is directed at how language is used as a tool of political expression and how such linguistic practices shape individual and collective identities in the digital space. Data was obtained from journal articles, books, research reports, and conference proceedings obtained through academic databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and JSTOR. The results of the analysis show that linguistic practices on social media—such as the use of hashtags, ideological diction, and visual symbols such as memes and emojis—play a major role in strengthening political identity and deepening polarization. Social media also creates echo chambers and filter bubbles that hinder dialogue across ideologies. The approach of digital sociology allows for a deeper understanding of how power, symbols, and discourse are intertwined in the formation of public opinion in the digital age. In conclusion, language in social media is not just a means of communication, but also a political means that shape affiliations, conflicts, and social structures. This study recommends the need to strengthen digital literacy and communication ethics in building a healthy and inclusive digital public space.

Abstract

Inclusive education is a global and national mandate that aims to provide equitable access to education for all children, including children with special needs (ABK). However, its implementation is still colored by veiled discriminatory practices. This study aims to examine how power relations in educational institutions shape the experience of ABK in schools, as well as analyze how educational structures can reproduce social injustice. This research uses a qualitative approach with a systematic literature review method based on a critical sociological perspective. The data source is in the form of secondary literature from journal articles, scientific books, research reports, and relevant policies in the period 2017–2025. Data was collected through systematic searches in various scientific databases and analyzed thematically and interpretively. The results of the study show that inclusive education is still fraught with unequal power relations through labeling, normalization, and institutional resistance to diversity. ABK is often marginalized because of non-inclusive normative standards. These findings affirm the importance of transforming the education system through a critical, reflective, and social justice-based approach. This research recommends curriculum reform, transformative teacher training, and structural support that ensures the full participation of children with disabilities in education.

Abstract

Education has a central role in shaping a social perspective on diversity, including people with disabilities. However, many educational curricula still present a biased and unempowering representation of people with disabilities. This study aims to examine the inclusive language and social representation of people with disabilities in curriculum documents using a sociology approach to disability. This study was carried out through a qualitative method with a systematic literature review approach. Data sources include scientific articles, academic books, research reports, and policy documents collected from databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, and DOAJ. The data collection technique was carried out by literature selection based on the keywords of inclusive language. The analysis was carried out thematically and narratively, using the framework of the disability social model, the concept of ableism, and a critical theory approach. The results show that the educational curriculum is still dominated by medical approaches and non-inclusive narratives that place people with disabilities as objects of mercy or burden. The language used tends to stigmatize, reinforce stereotypes, and create symbolic exclusion in the classroom. In addition, the involvement of people with disabilities in curriculum formulation is still very minimal. The conclusions of this study emphasize that equitable and inclusive education can only be achieved through paradigm shifts, the use of empowering language, and equal representation in all aspects of the educational curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how the narrative of meritocracy in education contributes to the reproduction of social inequality through a critical sociological approach. Education is often assumed to be a means of social mobility based on individual ability and effort, but the literature shows that this system is fraught with structural biases. This study uses a systematic literature review method with a critical qualitative approach. Data sources come from scientific articles, academic books, policy reports, and educational documents collected from databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, and DOAJ. The selected literature focuses on meritocracy, educational inequality, as well as critical theories of education such as cultural capital, habitus, and symbolic dominance. The analysis was carried out thematically and interpretively. The results of the study show that the education system actually strengthens social stratification through evaluation and selection mechanisms that appear to be neutral. The ideology of meritocracy plays a role in justifying inequality and blaming individuals for their failures. This study concludes that a socially just approach to education needs to be developed to break symbolic dominance and open up space for more inclusive and equitable policies

Abstract

Urbanization as part of the modernization process has changed the social structure and living space of people, especially in urban areas. This study aims to systematically review the literature related to the impact of urbanization on social cohesion in local communities and to analyze the dynamics of social disintegration that arise in urban spaces. The research uses a qualitative approach with a systematic literature review method, based on the perspective of critical sociology and social cohesion theory. Data is collected from scientific journal articles, academic books, research reports, and policy documents obtained through scientific databases such as Scopus, Google Scholar, and Web of Science. The analysis was carried out thematically and interpretively on the selected relevant literature published from 2017–2025. The results of the study show that urbanization triggers the erosion of communal solidarity, strengthens spatial segregation, and decreases the sense of belonging between city residents. Processes such as gentrification and social exclusion deepen inequality and marginalize traditional communities. This research confirms the importance of inclusive and participatory community-based urban planning to rebuild lost social cohesion. This study provides a conceptual basis for the development of socially just and sustainable spatial planning policies

Abstract

This research departs from the post-truth phenomenon which is characterized by the dominance of subjective opinions and emotions in shaping public perception, which has a serious impact on social cohesion in the digital space. Language plays an important role in this process, not only as a means of communication, but also as a discourse that reproduces power and social identity. This research aims to analyze how digital language shapes and fragments social identities, as well as to evaluate the role of digital citizenship education in facing the challenges of disinformation and social polarization. The approach of this research is qualitative with a systematic literature review method based on a critical sociological perspective. Data is obtained from journal articles, academic books, educational policies, and other literature sources collected through a targeted search in scientific databases. The analysis is carried out thematically and interpretively with an emphasis on concepts from Foucault, Hall, Bauman, Giroux, and Habermas. The results of the study show that the digital space creates a new form of social fragmentation, but also opens up opportunities for intervention through critical education. Therefore, digital citizenship education needs to be systematically integrated to form inclusive, critical, and ethical citizens in communicating in the digital era.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to analyze in depth the representation of power dynamics and social hierarchy in cyberbullying through discourse patterns and communication strategies. The research also seeks to explain how social norms or power structures in the real world are replicated and strengthened in online interactions involving cyberbullying. The uniqueness of the research is that it integrates linguistic and sociological perspectives comprehensively, in contrast to previous research that tends to focus on one of the disciplines, in order to offer a holistic analysis of the phenomenon of cyberbullying. This study adopts the narrative literature review method, a systematic qualitative approach to identify, evaluate, and synthesize findings from previous studies related to the representation of women in Indonesian horror films. The findings of the study show that cyberbullying is a multidimensional phenomenon that involves the complexity of language, social interaction, and power structures in the digital realm. Cyberbullying, which manifests itself in many forms, inherently reflects the power imbalance between perpetrator and victim, often reinforced by the anonymity and wide reach of  digital platforms. However, the resistance of discourse and power back shows that victims are not always passive, but are able to implement linguistic strategies to challenge this dominance, restore agency, and even encourage social change.

Abstract

The daily life use of household chemicals is inevitable. Household products like household cleaning products, floor cleaners, disinfection water, rinsing water, and fabric bleach are more often used in the household operation. As attitudes toward chemical risks are the products of knowledge, experience, and cultural values of gender roles, they are quite subjective. It is worth mentioning also that this research has scientific urgency in an interdisciplinary context, especially in gender studies, public health and environmental psychology. This research uses a quantitative method as well as an analytical survey by discussing gender and feelings of household chemicals. This technique allows the researcher to gather and analyze data on a more scientific level in order to detect correlations between the variables. Based on the results of the quantitative analysis, it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship between gender and the perception of household chemicals among housewives and fathers.
