Abstract

It should be understood that everything always comes with a risk. This applies to everything, from the simple to the most complex. Risk is even present in the effort to love and be loved by someone. The most painful risk of loving is when death comes to pick you up. The Sangihe community seems to have its own way to deal with this. However, this method has drawn pros and cons from many circles, namely by choosing an unusual location for a grave (near one's own residence). This study uses qualitative research methods and Theology of Remembrance theory as the main "surgical section". Through Theology of Remembrance, the researcher examines the Bible text from I Corinthians 11:23-25 and the customs of the Sangihe community in choosing a burial location. After that, these two studies were dialogued to find the strategies of Paul and the Sangihe community in an effort to remember honestly and make peace with the past. This research is expected to reveal the secret behind the habits of the Sangihe people when choosing a burial location and the philosophy behind the habit. The habit of making a grave near the residence/house is an effort by the Sangihe people to remember the past peacefully, both good and bad memories.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the historical development of religious moderation within the cultural context of Minahasa and to analyze its relevance as a foundation for peace education in the contemporary era. Although studies on religious moderation in Indonesia has significantly increased, most studies remain macro-oriented and lack in-depth integration between local cultural values and contextual educational strategies. This gap highlights the need for a more grounded and culturally embedded analysis. This research employs a qualitative approach through a systematic literature review, supported by thematic analysis and historical interpretation, to examine the evolution and transformation of moderation values in Minahasa society. The findings reveal that religious moderation in Minahasa is not a fixed cultural trait, but a socially constructed and continuously negotiated process shaped by local wisdom such as Mapalus (mutual cooperation), customary deliberation, and the Toar Lumimuut narrative, which embodies equality and social solidarity. However, these values are increasingly challenged by digital radicalization, misinformation, and the weakening of intergenerational transmission. This research argues that integrating religious moderation into peace education requires adaptive, critical, and context-sensitive strategies, particularly through digital engagement and culturally grounded curricula. The research contributes to the existing literature by offering a contextualized conceptual framework that positions local wisdom as a dynamic resource for strengthening peace education and sustaining social harmony in a rapidly changing society.

Abstract

This article examines post-conflict Muslim-Christian relations in Indonesia, using communal trauma as the primary unit of analysis. The aim of this study was to show how trauma functions as a relational reality that forms patterns of segregation, latent prejudice, and possible interfaith encounters. This study employs a qualitative approach through narrative inquiry, analyzing the documentary film Beta Mau Jumpa as a narrative-theological text, supported by a literature review on interreligious conflict and trauma theology. The results show that post-conflict trauma does not stop as an individual experience but operates as a collective memory that shapes Muslim-Christian relations in an ongoing manner. The novelty of this research lies in the positioning of trauma as a locus theologicus in the study of interreligious relations. This article contributes to the development of contextual theology and religious education by offering a more sensitive theological framework to the experience of wounds and post-conflict reconciliation.

Abstract

The dilemma between strict and gentle education patterns is still trapped in a never-ending turmoil. In Indonesia itself, this can still be seen clearly. Through the decision of the Governor of West Java to send naughty children to be trained in military barracks, many have reacted and spoken up. Some agree with the breakthrough, but some oppose it on the grounds that the action is not good for the child's psychology. This study uses a qualitative research method with a comparative approach. This study compares two priestly families in the Bible recorded in the book of Samuel and the Gospel of Luke. To analyze the text, the hermeneutic method of Thematic Criticism is used. The main theory underlying this study is Albert Bandura's Social Learning Theory which is used to highlight the influence of the environment on children's learning. This research is expected to contribute to determining the right educational pattern, especially the education of today's Christian families. From this research, it is also expected that an understanding will emerge about how the Bible describes and elaborates on the fact that the social environment can influence the education of children in Christian families.
