One problem faced when implementing the 2013 curriculum at SD Negeri Jajar No. 73 Surakarta, is about the application of authentic assessment. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the teacher's knowledge about authentic assessment, factors that cause teachers difficulties in implementing authentic assessment, and solutions that teachers do to overcome these difficulties. This research is descriptive qualitative. The subject of this study was teacher at SD Negeri Jajar No. 73 Surakarta. Data was collected by interview, observation and documentation. The results of research showed: 1) teachers understanding of authentic assessment is good, teachers knew that authentic assessment is an assessment that used in 2013 curriculum consisting of cognitive, affective, psychomotor assessments. 2) Factors causing difficulties faced by teachers in implementing authentic assessment, namely: often found different basic competencies from one book to another, there are still some students who do not collect assignments, too many assessment techniques that need to be done cause teachers to experience being overwhelmed, time is limited. 3) The teacher's efforts to overcome difficulties when implementing authentic assessment are: always looking for the latest information (up to date), attending training or workshops related to authentic assessment, teachers can manage time better.
