Abstract

Abstract The study aimed to describe: the implementation of character values through home visit services, the obstacles, and the effort to deal with obstacles in implementing character values through home visit services in the theme of Fresh Air for Health to fifth grade students of SD Negeri Sidototo. It was qualitative method. The subjects were teachers and students of fifth grade. The results indicated that character values consisted of tolerance, disipline, honest, responsibility, environmental concern, curiosity, hard work, communication, cooperation, and perseverance. The home visit service applied the following aspects such as volunteerism, open-minded, activity, independence, dynamics, cohesiveness, normativity, and contemporary. The obstacles in implementing character values through home visit were the student’houses were far from the place for home visit activities, the students did not go to the home visit to study for various reasons, the students were jealous since their houses were not used as a place for home visit, the students had limited transportation, the learning facilities at the home visit were limited, and the students were pivky in making friends. The teachers made appropriate efforts to overcome the obstacles in implementing character values through home visit services.
