OPTIMALISASI PERAN KADER, IBU HAMIL DAN IBU MENYUSUI MELALUI PARTICIPATORY HYGIENE AND SANITATION TRANSFORMATION SEBAGAI UPAYA PENCEGAHAN STUNTING

Abstract

Abstrak: Prevalensi stunting di Kota Tasikmalaya tertinggi ke-9 di Jawa Barat (22,4%), lebih tinggi dari prevalensi stunting di Jawa Barat. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap kader, ibu hamil, ibu menyusui mengenai intervensi stunting melalui perbaikan sanitasi lingkungan, serta meningkatkan keterampilan mereka untuk mengolah makanan sesuai prinsip higiene dan sanitasi makanan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui metode Participatory Hygiene And Sanitation Transformation (PHAST), dengan tahap: (1) persiapan; (2) tahap pelaksanaan dengan pengisian pre-test, penayangan video, brainstorming, penyuluhan, demonstrasi dan (3) evaluasi (pengisian post-test). Total peserta sebanyak 45 orang kader, ibu hamildan ibu menyusui. Hasil brainstorming menunjukkan peserta di wilayah Puskesmas Cihideung mengakui masih banyak masyarakat di sekitar mereka yang sudah memiliki jamban namun membuang limbahnya ke selokan. Peserta di wilayah Puskesmas Tamansari mengakui belum disiplin melakukan CTPS (cuci tangan pakai sabun). Sebelum kegiatan PHAST, rata-rata nilai pengetahuan peserta 10,37 meningkat menjadi 13,83 setelah kegiatan PHAST.Abstract: The prevalence of stunting in Tasikmalaya City was the 9th highest in West Java (22.4%), higher than the prevalence of stunting in West Java. Community service activities aim to increase the knowledge and attitudes of cadres, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers regarding stunting interventions through improving environmental sanitation, as well as improving their skills in processing food according to the principles of food hygiene and sanitation. This activity was carried out using the Participatory Hygiene And Sanitation Transformation (PHAST) method, with stages: (1) preparation; (2) implementation stage by completing the pre-test, showing videos, brainstorming, counseling, demonstration; and (3) evaluation (filling in the post-test). The total number of participants was 45 people. The results of the brainstorming showed that participants in the Cihideung Public Health Center area admitted that there were still many people around them who already had toilets but threw their waste into the gutter. Participants in the Tamansari Public Health Center area admitted that they had not been disciplined in carrying out CTPS (washing hands with soap). Before the PHAST activity, the mean knowledge score of participants was 10.37, increasing to 13.83 after the PHAST activity.
