Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the e-learning-based Problem Based Learning (PBL) method in learning heavy equipment technology in automotive vocational programs. The research subjects consisted of 13 students who took pretest and posttest to measure understanding before and after treatment. The results showed a significant increase in the posttest score (average 75.38) compared to the pretest (average 24.85), with an average N-Gain score of 0.7 and an Effect size of 5.7. As a result, the e-learning-based PBL method is effective in improving student understanding. Suggestions were given to expand the implementation of these methods, develop interactive modules, train instructors, conduct ongoing evaluations, and ensure adequate technological infrastructure. This study provides evidence that this approach can improve the quality of automotive vocational education.
