Abstrak Minat baca siswa sekolah dasar di Indonesia merupakan isu penting yang dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi dua kategori utama faktor yang mempengaruhi minat baca, yaitu faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Faktor internal mencakup motivasi, keinginan, dan kebutuhan individu siswa, sedangkan faktor eksternal meliputi dukungan dari lingkungan, seperti keluarga, guru, dan teman. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa latar belakang ekonomi keluarga, pendidikan orang tua, dan budaya membaca di lingkungan keluarga berperan signifikan dalam membentuk minat baca siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya peran guru dan orang tua dalam menumbuhkan minat baca, serta perlunya meningkatkan ketersediaan buku dan fasilitas membaca di lingkungan sekitar. Dengan meningkatnya minat baca, diharapkan kebiasaan membaca siswa dapat berkembang, yang pada gilirannya akan meningkatkan keterampilan dan pengetahuan mereka. Abstract The reading interest of elementary school students in Indonesia is an important issue that is influenced by various factors. This study identifies two main categories of factors that affect reading interest, namely internal factors and external factors. Internal factors include students' individual motivations, desires, and needs, while external factors include support from the environment, such as family, teachers, and friends. Research shows that family economic background, parental education, and reading culture in the family environment play a significant role in shaping students' interest in reading. The results of this study emphasize the importance of the role of teachers and parents in fostering interest in reading, as well as the need to increase the availability of books and reading facilities in the surrounding environment. With the increase in interest in reading, it is hoped that students' reading habits can develop, which in turn will improve their skills and knowledge.
