Tragedi ini terjadi pada Mei 1998, dimana tragedi ini terdapat penjarahan, kekerasan, dan pemerkosaan terhadap masyarakat etnis Tionghoa yang dipicu oleh krisis moneter pada akhir masa pemerintahan Orde Baru. Argumentasi utama dari penciptaan ini berdasar pada peristiwa kekerasan yang menimpa perempuan etnis Tionghoa pada Mei 1998. Penciptaan ini berfokus pada kronologi kejadian dan trauma yang dialami oleh tokoh bernama Clara yang diakibatkan oleh pemerkosaan. Penciptaan karakter tokoh Clara dengan menggunakan pendekatan akting representasi dan menggabungkan panggung teater dengan teknologi media berbentuk imersif.
