EFEKTIVITAS E-WORKSHEET BERBASIS METACOGNITION IN SCIENCE FOR HIGHER EDUCATION TERHADAP MOTIVASI BELAJAR MAHASISWA PENDIDIKAN BIOLOGI PADA MATA KULIAH GENETIKA

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas penerapan e-worksheet berbasis Metacognition in Science for Higher Education (MiSHE) terhadap motivasi belajar mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi pada mata kuliah Genetika. Model MiSHE menekankan enam sintaks utama, yaitu Awareness, Essential Question, Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, dan Reflection, yang dirancang untuk mengembangkan kesadaran berpikir, tanggung jawab belajar, serta kemampuan reflektif mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan desain nonequivalent pre-test post-test control group. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 72 mahasiswa yang dibagi menjadi kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket motivasi belajar dengan empat dimensi utama, yaitu orientasi keberhasilan, antisipasi kegagalan, inovasi, dan tanggung jawab. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada motivasi belajar mahasiswa di kelas eksperimen dibandingkan kelas kontrol dengan nilai signifikansi uji Mann-Whitney sebesar 0,000 dan skor N-Gain sebesar 0,67 (kategori sedang). Penerapan e-worksheet berbasis MiSHE terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran berpikir, kemandirian, dan motivasi intrinsik mahasiswa. Dengan demikian, model ini dapat menjadi inovasi pembelajaran yang mendukung pendekatan berpusat pada mahasiswa serta memperkuat motivasi belajar dalam pembelajaran biologi di perguruan tinggi.   Kata Kunci : E-Worksheet, Metakognisi, Motivasi Belajar, Genetika, Pendidikan Biologi   ABSTRACT   This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of implementing a Metacognition in Science for Higher Education (MiSHE)-based e-worksheet on biology education students’ learning motivation in the Genetics course. The MiSHE model emphasizes six main syntaxes: Awareness, Essential Question, Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reflection, which are designed to develop students’ thinking awareness, learning responsibility, and reflective ability. This research used a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent pre-test post-test control group design. The sample consisted of 72 students divided into experimental and control groups. The instrument used was a learning motivation questionnaire covering four main dimensions: success orientation, failure anticipation, innovation, and responsibility. The findings revealed a significant increase in learning motivation in the experimental group compared to the control group, with a Mann-Whitney significance value of 0.000 and an N-Gain score of 0.67 (medium category). The implementation of the MiSHE-based e-worksheet proved effective in enhancing students’ metacognitive awareness, independence, and intrinsic motivation. Therefore, this model can serve as an innovative learning approach that supports student-centered learning and strengthens learning motivation in biology education at the higher education level.   Keywords : E-Worksheet, Metacognition, Learning Motivation, Genetics, Biology Education
