This study analyzes majaz ‘aqli in QS. Al-Haqqah from the perspective of Arabic literary studies and balāghah Qur’āniyyah. As a Makkiyah surah characterized by strong eschatological discourse, QS. Al-Haqqah employs figurative language not only to convey meaning, but also to construct powerful rhetorical and aesthetic effects. This research aims to identify forms of majaz ‘aqli found in the surah and to explain their rhetorical functions within the framework of ‘ilm al-bayān. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the data were obtained from selected verses of QS. Al-Haqqah and analyzed through classical balāghah theory supported by contemporary Qur’anic linguistic studies. The findings reveal six instances of majaz ‘aqli, consisting of ‘alaqah sababiyyah, mashdariyyah, and fa‘iliyyah. These forms demonstrate how actions are rhetorically attributed to causes, sources, or subjects to intensify meaning, emphasize divine power, and reinforce the eschatological message of the surah. This study contributes to Arabic literary criticism by showing that majaz ‘aqli functions as a central stylistic device that strengthens semantic depth, rhetorical persuasion, and the aesthetic coherence of Qur’anic discourse.
