Sebaliknya, metode modern Barat seperti Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Role-Playing, dan Inquiry Learning sangat tajam melatih logika berpikir kritis (HOTS) abad ke-21, namun kurang menyentuh dimensi emosional batiniah. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in schools is currently often trapped in a conventional one-way approach that is oriented toward low-level textual memorization. This has a negative impact on the emergence of the "split personality" phenomenon, where students excel cognitively but are fragile in their inner and moral-spiritual aspects. This article aims to explore PAI learning methods from the perspective of the Qur'an and Hadith, analyze the adoption of modern Western perspective methods in Indonesia, and formulate integration strategies of combination methods to effectively internalize Islamic values in students. This study is library research using a qualitative approach. Primary data sources were collected from books, regulations, and reputable scientific journal articles, which were then systematically analyzed using descriptive-analytical content analysis techniques. The results of the study show that the various methods in the Qur'an and Hadith prioritize harmony between reason and heart to achieve purification of the soul. Conversely, modern Western methods such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Role-Playing, and Inquiry Learning are sharp in training 21st-century critical thinking logic (HOTS), but lack contact with the inner emotional dimension. Therefore, this study recommends reconstruction in the form of a combined learning method. The implementation of this method is carried out by aligning the sharp reasoning of Western methods with the spirit of Islamic spirituality, such as the combine of PBL steps with Tadabbur, Role-Playing with Uswah Hasanah, and strengthening the five principles of deep learning based on religious values . This combined model is proven to be able to shift the learning paradigm from mere information transfer towards transformation of real behavior aligned with the ideals of the Pancasila Student Profile.
