This study aimed to describe the implementation of the peer tutoring strategy in the choir extracurricular program at SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa Timur. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The research subjects consisted of 17 students participating in the choir extracurricular activity, divided into soprano, alto, tenor, and bass (SATB) voice groups. The peer tutoring strategy was implemented through several stages, including learning planning, tutor selection based on vocal ability, voice-group formation, basic vocal technique training, sectional rehearsals, combined rehearsals, dress rehearsals, evaluation, and reflection. The findings revealed that the peer tutoring strategy improved students’ musical abilities, including intonation accuracy, rhythm and tempo control, vocal technique, articulation, harmony, and group cohesiveness. In addition, improvements were found in non-musical aspects such as active participation, self-confidence, responsibility, and teamwork among group members. The presence of peer tutors created a more communicative, collaborative, and supportive learning environment, enabling students to understand the training materials more effectively. Therefore, the peer tutoring strategy proved to be an effective alternative approach for choir extracurricular coaching and is worthy of further development in music education at schools. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan strategi tutor sebaya dalam pembinaan ekstrakurikuler paduan suara di SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa Timur. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 17 peserta didik yang tergabung dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler paduan suara dan terbagi ke dalam kelompok suara sopran, alto, tenor, dan bass (SATB). Penerapan strategi tutor sebaya dilaksanakan melalui tahapan perencanaan pembelajaran, pemilihan tutor berdasarkan kemampuan vokal, pembentukan kelompok suara, latihan teknik vokal dasar, latihan per kelompok suara, latihan gabungan, gladi bersih, evaluasi, dan refleksi pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi tutor sebaya mampu meningkatkan kemampuan musikal peserta didik, meliputi ketepatan intonasi, ritme dan tempo, teknik vokal, artikulasi, harmonisasi, serta kekompakan kelompok. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan pada aspek nonmusikal, seperti partisipasi aktif, kepercayaan diri, tanggung jawab, dan kemampuan bekerja sama antaranggota kelompok. Kehadiran tutor sebaya menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih komunikatif, kolaboratif, dan nyaman sehingga peserta didik lebih mudah memahami materi latihan. Dengan demikian, strategi tutor sebaya terbukti efektif sebagai alternatif pembinaan ekstrakurikuler paduan suara dan layak dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran seni musik di sekolah.
