Abstract

Dengan demikian, “The Adventures of Laskar Pelangi” berpotensi menjadi media pembelajaran inovatif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan Mathematical Literacy  sekaligus melestarikan budaya Bangka Belitung. The low level of Mathematical Literacy  among senior high school students in Bangka Belitung Province affects their academic achievement and readiness to face real-world challenges. Interviews with a mathematics teacher at SMAN 1 Sungailiat revealed that learning activities are still focused on textbooks and have not optimally utilized digital media. This study aims to develop the “The Adventures of Laskar Pelangi” educational game based on ethno-Mathematical Literacy  by integrating the local wisdom of Bangka Belitung that is valid, practical, and has a potential effect. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ASSURE model, which consists of analyzing learners, stating objectives, selecting methods, media, and materials; utilizing materials; requiring learner participation; and evaluating and revising. The mini-series in the game presents themes of the Lom traditional house and the Nganggung Sepintu Sedulang tradition combined with senior high school mathematics topics, such as solid geometry, scale, trigonometry, ratio and proportion, social arithmetic, and statistics. Validation was conducted through expert review, one-to-one, and small group evaluations involving six students, followed by a field test involving 52 senior high school students. The results showed that the game was categorized as highly valid with an average score of 98.19 and highly practical, with practicality scores of 94 in the one-to-one trial and 98 in the small group trial. In the field test stage, students’ learning N gain = 0,64. Students also gave positive responses to the storyline, cultural integration, and interactive activities in the game. Therefore, “The Adventures of Laskar Pelangi” has the potential to become an innovative learning medium to improve Mathematical Literacy  skills while preserving the culture of Bangka Belitung.
