Abstract

Kata Kunci: Kontaminasi, Bakteri, Udara ABSTRACT Bacterial contamination of blood components is a serious risk in blood transfusions, with a higher potential for infection than viruses. The impact of air contamination varies from mild reactions such as fever to severe to sepsis. Bacteria are adaptable in various environments, being the number two cause of death due to transfusions. The purpose of the study was to identify bacterial contamination in the air based on the number of colonies in the blood component laboratory of the Blood Donor Unit (UDD) of PMI Bojo Regency. The research uses a descriptive design. Population All micro bacteria in the blood component laboratory of the Blood Donor Unit (UDD) PMI Bojonegoro Regency, microbacterial samples were divided into 5 points and each point had 5 cups with an accidental sampling technique. Plate Count Agar (PCA) media instrument and incubated for 1 x 24 hours at a temperature of 37 degrees Celsius. To see the number of bacterial colonies at five points of the blood component laboratory. The results of the study were obtained bacterial contamination in the Blood Component Laboratory Room of 1,479 CFU/m³. This does not exceed the threshold set by the Ministry of Health No. 1204/Menkes/SK/X/2004. The PMI Constitution recommends strengthening the sanitation and sterility of component laboratory rooms through the implementation of SOPs, and investment in modern technology, staff training. This proactive step is important to maintain laboratory safety and quality of blood products. Keywords: Contamination, Bacteria, Aira
