<![CDATA[This study aims to figure out what makes students cheat and how to prevent it through Pancasila Education lessons with eighth graders at SMP Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan. The research uses a qualitative approach, collecting data through interviews, observations, and documents. The participants are the school principal, guidance counselor, Pancasila Education teachers, and eighth-grade students. The findings reveal that cheating behavior is caused by two interrelated factors. Internal factors include low self-confidence, a grade-oriented (instant) mindset, the habit of procrastinating in studying, and weak internalization of moral and religious values. External factors include parental pressure regarding grades, peer influence, weak supervision during assessments, misuse of mobile phones, and an evaluation system that emphasizes scores. The forms of cheating found include the use of hidden notes, mobile phones, and collaboration among students through certain codes. Preventive efforts were carried out through Pancasila Education learning that explicitly integrates the value of honesty, teacher role-modeling, habituation of honest attitudes, strengthened supervision, and cooperation among teachers, homeroom teachers, and parents. These efforts resulted in positive changes, namely increased student awareness of honesty and a decline in cheating tendencies, demonstrating that Pancasila Education learning is effective as a means of building honest character when implemented consistently and continuously.]]>
