<![CDATA[Scabies is a contagious skin disease caused by Sarcoptes scabiei and is primarily transmitted through direct contact or contaminated fomites. The disease is commonly associated with overcrowded living conditions and poor personal and environmental hygiene. Scabies remains a public health concern and has been classified by the World Health Organization as a neglected tropical disease. This study aimed to determine the factors associated with scabies occurrence among students at Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School, Southeast Aceh Regency. A quantitative study with a cross-sectional design was conducted from June 2024 to June 2025 involving 120 students selected through total sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS through univariate, bivariate analysis using the chi-square test, and multivariate analysis using logistic regression. The results showed significant associations between scabies occurrence and students’ knowledge, attitudes, personal hygiene, environmental sanitation, and support from boarding school management. Among these factors, personal hygiene was identified as the most dominant factor associated with scabies occurrence. These findings highlight the importance of improving students’ knowledge and attitudes, strengthening personal hygiene practices, maintaining adequate environmental sanitation, and enhancing support from boarding school management. Collaboration between boarding schools and healthcare providers is also essential to strengthen scabies prevention and control, particularly among newly admitted students.]]>
