The Influence of Career Development, Compensation, and Work Environment on Employee Performance Through Employee Engagement at PT Lotte Indonesia

Abstract

This study aims to investigate and empirically analyze the importance of improving employee performance in increasingly competitive business conditions. Employee performance is one of the key factors in achieving organizational goals. To improve performance, companies need to pay attention to several factors that influence employee behavior and performance, such as career development, compensation, and the work environment. Good career development helps employees improve their skills and competencies. Fair compensation can increase employee motivation and job satisfaction. In addition, a comfortable and supportive work environment can help employees perform better and also employee engagement is considered an important factor that encourages employees to make their best contributions to the company. Employees with a high level of engagement tend to demonstrate greater loyalty, enthusiasm, and responsibility toward their work. The study used data collected from 207 samples. Data were obtained through a survey method using structured questionnaires administered to all active employees of PT Lotte Indonesia. The analytical approach consisted of descriptive and quantitative techniques. The empirical findings demonstrate that: Career Development exerts a positive and significant direct effect on Employee Engagement; Compensation exerts a positive and significant direct effect on Employee Engagement; Work Environment exerts a positive and significant direct effect on Employee Engagement; Career Development exerts a positive and significant direct effect on Employee Performance; Compensation exerts a positive and significant direct effect on Employee Performance; Work Environment exerts a positive and significant direct effect on Employee Performance; Employee Engagement exerts a positive and significant direct effect on Employee Performance; Career Development positively and significantly influences Employee Performance through Employee Engagement; Compensation positively and significantly influences Employee Performance through Employee Engagement; and Work Environment positively and significantly influences Employee Performance through Employee Engagement.
