<![CDATA[This research is motivated by the importance of upholding the rights of children in conflict with the law during the prosecution stage of the legal process. As legal subjects, these children retain rights that must be protected, as stipulated in Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal Justice System. This study aims to describe the implementation of rights for child detainees and identify obstacles encountered during this process at the Class II B State Detention Center in Padang. A qualitative approach was employed, utilizing descriptive methods and purposive sampling. Data were gathered through interviews and document analysis. Research informants included the detention center head, staff members, child detainees, the detainees' parents, and representatives from the prosecutor's office. Data analysis involved collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was verified through source and technique triangulation. The results indicate that efforts have been made to uphold child detainees' rights through humane treatment, legal aid, healthcare services, religious guidance, recreational activities, identity protection, and family visitation and communication. However, implementation has not been fully optimal, primarily due to ongoing interaction between children and adult detainees, the absence of formal education, and limited facilities specifically designed to meet children's needs. Obstacles include internal factors—such as discipline, participation in guidance programs, facility utilization, and communication with family—and external factors, including family support, economic conditions, residential distance, limited infrastructure, and law enforcement-related issues. The findings suggest that fulfilling children's rights requires active participation from the children themselves, family support, child-friendly facilities, professional personnel, and inter-agency coordination.]]>
