Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kendala dalam pelaksanaan ekstrakurikuler Pramuka untuk membentuk perilaku disiplin anggota Pramuka SMP Negeri 10 Padang. Hal itu dilatarbelakangi dari masih banyak kendala dalam pelaksanaan ekstrakurikuler Pramuka di sekolah itu khususnya dalam masalah kedisiplinan. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Informan penelitian yaitu Wakil Kepala Sekolah bidang Kesiswaan, Pembina Pramuka, Pelatih Pramuka, dan sembilan anggota Pramuka. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kendala dalam pelaksanaan ekstrakurikuler Pramuka untuk membentuk disiplin anggota Pramuka SMP Negeri 10 Padang pertama, pembina Pramuka yang jarang hadir untuk mendampingi anggota latihan Pramuka. Kedua, kekurangan dana dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan Pramuka. Ketiga, anggota Pramuka yang jarang hadir latihan Pramuka. Keempat, anggota Pramuka yang melanggar tata tertib sekolah. Kelima, sulitnya pemberian izin dari orang tua siswa kepada anaknya untuk menjadi anggota Pramuka.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the form of ethnonationalism reflected in the Serak gulo tradition among the Indian Muslim community in Padang Selatan District, as well as to identify obstacles and efforts in maintaining the Serak gulo tradition. The Serak gulo tradition is a local wisdom that not only has religious meaning but also serves as a form of gratitude and fulfillment of vows and strengthens social solidarity. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation with informants consisting of Indian Muslim community leaders, tradition practitioners and surrounding communities of different ethnicities. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions using triangulation techniques to maintain data validity. The results of the study show that ethnonationalism in the Serak gulo tradition is reflected through the meaning, symbols, and stages of the tradition that emphasize the cultural identity of the Indian Muslim community. The stages of the tradition are carried out sequentially starting from collecting sugar, wrapping, reciting prayers, to the process of distributing sugar to the community. However, there are obstacles such as the distribution of sugar that is not carried out simultaneously, thus reducing the value of togetherness. Efforts made to maintain this tradition include hereditary preservation, strengthening the values ​​of togetherness, and active community involvement in every implementation.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing issue of neglected elderly who require serious attention from the government, particularly throught the Social Service Office. The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of the Social Service of padang City in handling neglected elderly and to identify the in habiting factirs encountered. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation, and documentation involving informants from the Social Service, community social workers, and the public. The results show that the Social Service has carried out multiple roles, including implementer, assessor, administrative facilitator, cross-sector coordinator, mediator, service provider, referral agent, social protector, and evaluator. However, these roles have not been fully optimized due to several obstacles such as the influx of elderly from outside regions, low family responsibility, low community awareness, budget constraints, internal conditions of the elderly, and socio-economic factors. Therefore, more proactive, integrated, and sustainable efforts are needed to improve the welfare of neglected elderly.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the cultural diversity in Indonesia, which requires an attitude of tolerance through context-appropriate multicultural education that encompasses all learners, particularly in schools with pupils from diverse backgrounds, including those with special educational needs. The aim of this study is to examine how cultural competence can be developed to foster an attitude of tolerance at Yari International School. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design. Data were collected through interviews with Pancasila education teachers and school management, direct observation, and existing documents. Data analysis utilised an interactive model comprising several stages reduction, presentation, and drawing of conclusions, and was validated through triangulation of sources and methods. The research findings indicate that the enhancement of cultural competence is achieved by conducting context-appropriate learning, dividing students into culturally diverse groups, holding discussions and addressing issues of diversity, as well as organising extracurricular activities aimed at strengthening character and expressing art and culture.This practice helps to raise awareness of cultural identity, foster empathy towards others, improve intercultural communication skills, and promote non-discriminatory attitudes in everyday interactions. However, there are some challenges, such as initial prejudices and differences in communication styles among students. Nevertheless, with a good communication approach and sufficient support from teachers, these obstacles can be effectively overcome.
