<![CDATA[This research aims to develop argumentative literacy teaching materials based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in learning film review texts in grade VIII of SMP Negeri 6 Medan, determine the feasibility level of products based on expert validation, and test the effectiveness of its use in improving students' writing skills. The research uses research and development methods with the ADDIE model which includes the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The subject of the study is 31 students of class VIII-K SMP Negeri 6 Medan for the 2025/2026 Academic Year. Data was collected through interviews, needs analysis questionnaires, expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and writing tests through pretest and posttest. The analysis was carried out using quantitative and qualitative descriptive techniques. The results of the study show that the HOTS-based argumentative literacy module developed facilitates high-level thinking skills in the aspects of analyzing (C4), evaluating (C5), and creating (C6). The validation of material experts obtained a score of 88.04% and design experts 88.89%, with the category "Excellent". Overall, the feasibility level of teaching materials reached 88.47%. The effectiveness test showed an increase in the average score from 58.24 in the pretest to 82.35 in the posttest, with classical completeness increasing from 25.81% to 87.10%. The response of the students was also positive with an average score of 3.37 in the "Very Good" category. Thus, these teaching materials are valid, feasible, practical, and effective to improve the ability to write film review texts.]]>
