Visual arts education for visually impaired students remains largely oriented toward visual abilities, while access to multisensory contemporary art practices is limited. This community service program aimed to introduce contemporary art through a participatory sound-and-touch workshop and to produce the documentary film Haptic Memories as a communication asset with potential advocacy use for the partner school. The program involved five visually impaired students with diverse visual profiles and two accompanying teachers at SLBN A Citeureup Cimahi. Conducted through six visits between 2 October and 6 November 2024, the program comprised needs mapping, introductions to contemporary and inclusive art, the creation of clay works based on memories evoked by three natural soundscapes, reflective interviews, film production, and a joint evaluation with the school. Evidence from the program was collected through field notes, audiovisual documentation, semi-structured interviews, and evaluation discussions. The evaluation indicated that students experienced creating artworks from their own memories and imagination; teachers identified the combination of sound and touch as a new and potentially applicable teaching strategy; and the school acquired a digital asset for public communication. In this context, the program suggests that shifting from visual dominance toward haptic and auditory experiences can make contemporary art practices more accessible to visually impaired students. Given its small scale and short duration, however, this initiative should be regarded as an initial, context-specific model requiring continued mentoring and greater student involvement in future program design.
