Previous studies more Lots discuss GenAI effectiveness, achievements learning, AI literacy, and integrity academic, while studies that explore How student using GenAI to interpret problem social culture through perspective sociological and contextual wisdom local Still limited. Research This aim analyze GenAI utilization and exploring form involvement critical Sociology Education student at Nggusuwaru University in understand problem social culture. Research use approach qualitative descriptive with involving 12 students and 3 lecturers as selected informants? in a way purposive. Data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation as well as analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The results of the study conclude that GenAI is utilized For exploration information, understanding concepts and theories sociology, research perspective alternatives, as well as development of academic ideas. Involvement critical student formed through five processes, namely exploration, verification, evaluation, contextualization, and reflection. Students compare GenAI output with source scientific, reality social culture, theory sociology, and values Maja Labo Dahu. Research produce the concept of “AI-assisted but human-led social learning”, which positions GenAI as tool help exploration, while student still become actor main in evaluation, interpretation, and meaning social.
