Enhancing collaboration skills in Science and Social Sciences learning requires effective instructional strategies. This quantitative study aimed to determine the effect of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model on fifth-grade students’ collaboration skills. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The sample consisted of 56 students from SDN Gugus Hayam Wuruk Tawangmangu, with 28 students assigned to the experimental group and 28 to the control group. Data were collected using a validated 15-item collaboration questionnaire with a Cronbach’s Alpha reliability coefficient of 0.719. The results showed that the experimental group’s mean score increased from 77.07 to 86.29, an increase of 9.22 points, while the control group increased from 75.86 to 78.07, an increase of 2.21 points. The Independent Samples t-test revealed a significant difference in post-test collaboration skills between the two groups (t(54) = 4.710, p < 0.001). These findings indicate that the Jigsaw model positively affects collaboration skills by encouraging active participation, communication, shared responsibility, and cooperation through expert and home group activities. Therefore, the Jigsaw cooperative learning model is an effective strategy for developing collaboration skills in science and social learning and supporting the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka at the primary school level.
