<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze the role of the principal in improving the quality of educational facilities and infrastructure at SMA Negeri 8 Batang Hari and to identify supporting factors, inhibiting factors, and management efforts. The study employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the principal, vice principal for facilities and infrastructure, teachers, and administrative staff. Data was analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the principal plays a relatively effective role in managing educational facilities and infrastructure through need-based and priority-oriented planning, organization and delegation of responsibilities, administration and inventory management, supervision, and motivation of school members. Supporting factors include the availability of basic facilities, funding support, teacher participation, an inventory system, and cooperation among school members. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include the suboptimal condition of some facilities, budget limitations, students’ lack of awareness in maintaining facilities, unequal distribution of learning facilities, and challenges in asset management. The principal addresses these challenges through priority-based and phased procurement, participatory maintenance, supervision, evaluation, and optimization of funding sources. These findings indicate that the quality of educational facilities and infrastructure is determined not only by their availability but also by effective management and the involvement of school members.]]>
