Abstract

Important geomorphological characteristics are studied to support regional management and disaster mitigation. This study aims to identify aspects of morphography, morphometry, and morphogenesis in the Olele area and its surroundings, Kabila Bone Subdistrict, Bone Bolango Regency. The research method integrates digital spatial analysis of DEMNAS data using ArcGIS with validation tests and field synthesis. The results show that the study area has an intermittent dendritic river flow pattern with river stages ranging from young to mature. Based on the synthesis of these parameters, the study area was delineated into four geomorphological units: alluvial plain units (11%), reef terrace units (7%), pyroclastic hill units (34%), and lava flow hill units (48%). The steep to very steep slopes (55%) on the porphyritic dacite lava flow hills are recommended for use as non-agricultural conservation areas with strict structural mitigation measures to reduce the risk of landslides and rockfalls along the Trans-Sulawesi route.
