<![CDATA[The rapid growth of Medan as North Sumatra's largest city has increased pressure on its traditional commercial areas, one of which is Pajak Ikan Lama, a long-established textile trading center located in the historic Kesawan area. Uncontrolled pedestrian and vehicle circulation, limited parking availability, and the absence of integrated open space have reduced comfort for both traders and visitors. This community service activity aimed to produce a spatial arrangement study for Pajak Ikan Lama through a landscape design approach, focusing on a skywalk facility as a solution to circulation congestion while preserving the area's historic buildings. The activity applied a descriptive-qualitative method combining field observation, documentation, literature review, and interviews with traders and officials, followed by socialization to the Medan City Housing, Settlement Area, and Spatial Planning Office. The results show that Pajak Ikan Lama holds strong economic potential as a textile trade center as well as historical and cultural potential, marked by heritage buildings such as the Tjong A Fie Mansion and the Lonsum Building. The proposed design consists of an area zoning plan, a skywalk route connecting Jalan Ahmad Yani and Jalan Pulau Pinang, and supporting elements such as active and passive outdoor spaces, parking areas, pedestrian pathways, street lighting, and street furniture. The design was presented to the Medan City Housing, Settlement Area, and Spatial Planning Office as an input for future area planning. This study is expected to serve as a reference for the local government in resolving circulation problems and revitalizing Pajak Ikan Lama as a shopping and heritage tourism area.]]>
