Abstract

With the increasing number of customers of PT. PLN (Persero) ULP Natal, disruption to the distribution system will result in more widespread blackouts. To avoid this, the protection system in the distribution channel (especially in the YB-02 feeder) needs to be evaluated to ensure proper coordination. The protection systems are outgoing PMT, Recloser L-01 and Recloser L-02. The method used in this study is a method of observation, literature study, interviews and guidance. From this study, it was found that the coordination conditions between PMT Outgoing, Recloser L-01 and Recloser L-02 were correct and their capabilities could be improved by calculating the OCR and GFR relay settings. Abstract

This study focuses on the landscape architecture of culinary tourism objects in the paddy field area of Desa Kota Pari. The research aims to explore the potential of utilizing the natural and cultural elements of the site to create attractive and sustainable culinary tourism experiences.The study follows a qualitative descriptive approach, starting with an inventory stage to collect data on the existing conditions of the research location. Information about the unique motifs and ornaments of Desa Kota Pari is also gathered for the design and development concepts.The collected data is analyzed, considering physical and environmental, demographic, economic, and cultural aspects. From this analysis, various design and development concepts are formulated. These concepts include spatial zoning, tourist facilities, hardscape and softscape elements reflecting the local culture.Using 2D CAD applications and Photoshop, a site plan is created for the Pematang Sawah area, complemented by 3D visualizations. The research findings emphasize the potential of the paddy field area as a culinary tourism destination. By integrating the natural and cultural elements into the design, a sustainable and engaging experience can be created.

Abstract

Settlement Region and Urban slum is a big problem that must be solved in the Development Process. In Medan, there are some urban slums, one of these slum areas is in Bagan Deli, Lingkungan Lorong Mesjid Village, Medan Belawan. This study aims to determine the factors that caused untidiness in this slum area. Methods of the study was conducted with direct observation on the region. The data that already obtained are used as basis of analysis for answering the problems of the study, namely to know the factors that caused untidiness in this slum area. From the results of research findings that there are 5 factors that cause untidiness, that are population density factor, income factor, land ownership factor, occupant behavior factor, and care services factors include the availability of facilities and infrastructure. After knowing the factors of untidiness in slum area, then will make the best solutions, that is revitalization (rebuilding) operating physical and socio-economic.

Abstract

Generator Set (Genset) yang kita kenal selama ini berbahan bakar diesel, tetapi kali ini Genset yang akan dirancang berbasis Panel Surya. Genset biasa digunakan sebagai sumber cadangan jika terjadi pemadaman listrik PLN. Genset yang ramah lingkungan ini, dapat menghasilkan daya output sebesar 400 sampai 450 W dengan besar panel surya 100 Wp, dan baterai 100 Ah serta inverter 1500 VA. Genset dibuat sedemikian rupa sehingga mudah dibawa kemana-mana tergantung kebutuhan dan yang membutuhkan. Genset ini dapat mensuply beban lampu sebanyak enam buah dengan masing-masing daya 40 W dan sebuah pengeras suara (amplifier) dengan daya 200 W, dan mampu bertahan operasi selama 4-5 jam dengan posisi baterai penuh, dan lebih dari 12 jam jika digunakan pada siang hari dan posisi panel surya dijemur.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Lau Gumba Kecamatan Berastagi Kabupaten Tanah Karo. Lau Gumba dahulunya adalah tempat pengasingan ‘Putra Sang Fajar’ yaitu Ir. Soekarno. Presiden Ir. Soekarno diasingkan ke Lau Gumba pada bulan Desember Tahun 1948. Desa Lau Gumba merupakan desa pemekaran yang sedang dalam tahap pembangunan dan terdiri dari empat dusun yang saling berhubungan. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan sosialisasi mengenai perencanaan objek wisata yang terdapat di Desa Lau Gumba yang belum diperhatikan serta dikelola dengan baik sehingga beberapa lokasi belum dapat dikenal dengan baik oleh masyarakat dari segala penjuru. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mensosialisasikan potensi pengembangan wisata yang didapat di Desa Lau Gumba yang belum dikelola secara optimal bahkan beberapa lokasi belum dikenal luas oleh masyarakat. Pengembangan objek wisata di Desa Lau Gumba diharapkan dapat mensejahterakan dan meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat Desa Lau Gumba serta dapat menciptakan masyarakat yang sadar akan modernisasi tanpa meninggalkan keaslian dari desa Lau Gumba. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan metode partisipatoris yaitu dengan cara mengikutsertakan masyarakat sebagai partisipasan dan pendukung dalam perencanaan sosialisasi objek wisata di Desa Lau Gumba. Hasil dari pengabdian ini berupa peta lokasi dan objek wisata yang dapat dijadikan nilai tambah terhadap peningkatan nilai ekonomi masyarakat desa Lau Gumba

Abstract

The main objective of designing Plaza Utama Al-Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park in Sampe Cita Village, Kutalimbaru Sub-district, is to efficiently utilize open space according to the needs of the desired activities. By designing outdoor furniture that supports these activities, Plaza Utama is expected to function as a communal space for social and cultural activities while maintaining environmental sustainability and beauty. Research was conducted at this location for one year using a qualitative descriptive method, collecting data directly from the field. The design results explained that the Main Plaza of Al-Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park applies the principles of sustainable architecture using environmentally friendly materials and designs that blend with nature. Climate-responsive technologies, such as rainwater capture systems and the adaptation of building forms to the environment, are also integrated. Plants were selected based on their suitability for Indonesia's tropical climate. This design concept refers to the area master plan, ensuring alignment with the grand vision of Al-Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park Master Plan.

Abstract

A mixed-use building refers to a combination of several different functions within a single structure, such as residential, office, shopping, and recreational functions built on one site. Designing a mixed-use building requires careful planning and consideration of various factors such as functional needs, aesthetics, and energy conservation. Additionally, the design of mixed-use buildings incorporates various functions within a single area. Floor slabs and beams use plain reinforcing steel with a quality of Fy = 240 MPa (Ø8mm). The concrete cover is taken as 20 mm. From the design results, several thickness types of slabs were obtained according to the load requirements that must be accommodated above them. The following are the moments acting on the floor slabs and beams. The reinforcement calculations are performed using the capacity strength design method according to SNI 2847-2019. The capacity design concept involves controlling the formation of plastic hinges at predetermined locations. The SAP2000 program can directly calculate the feasibility of the structural dimensions and the amount of reinforcement needed from the input program results. In the SAP2000 program, the concrete code used is the American concrete code ACI-318-05/IBC 2003, which differs in some respects from the concrete code in Indonesia SNI 2847-2019. Adjustments need to be made to comply with the regulations in Indonesia. Internal forces from the SAP2000 program are selected from load combinations that generate the maximum moments at the column face. The flexural and shear reinforcement for beams can be directly read from the SAP2000 output in the form of information on the required area of reinforcement

Abstract

This study discusses the comparison of the Cost Budget Plan (RAB) for the construction of a type 36 house with two different concepts, namely the conventional concept and the Gold-rated GREENSHIP Home concept. The conventional concept refers to traditional construction methods with standard materials, while the Gold-rated GREENSHIP Home concept integrates environmentally friendly principles in design and construction, including energy efficiency, use of environmentally friendly materials, and good water management. This study aims to analyze the cost differences between the two concepts and to evaluate the long-term benefits related to energy efficiency and sustainability. The results of the study indicate that although the initial cost of construction with the GREENSHIP concept is higher, energy savings and reduction of environmental impacts in the long term provide significant economic benefits. This study provides important insights for developers and prospective homeowners to consider implementing the GREENSHIP concept in housing development planning.

Abstract

Masjid lama gang Bengkok is one of the historical heritage sites in Medan City, reflecting the integration of Malay and Chinese cultures within an Islamic context. Built around 1874 with the support of Tjong A Fie, a prominent Chinese figure during the Deli Sultanate era, the mosque features traditional Malay architectural styles with Chinese influences visible in its ornamentation and structural elements. Currently, the mosque’s physical condition is relatively well-preserved, but it faces environmental pressures from urban development and a lack of adequate historical interpretation systems. This study aims to identify the historical, architectural, and social values embodied in the mosque and to develop contextual preservation strategies. The research employs a qualitative approach through observation, literature review, and community interviews. The findings recommend community-based preservation, minor restoration, and the enhancement of historical narratives within public spaces.

Abstract

The Kesawan Corridor in Medan City is a historic district lined with colonial-era buildings of high architectural and historical value. However, many of these structures have experienced physical deterioration and functional obsolescence due to changing urban dynamics and lack of proper conservation. This research aims to assess the feasibility of adaptive reuse as a sustainable preservation strategy for historic buildings in this area. A qualitative case study approach was employed, including visual observation, in-depth interviews, and literature review. The potential buildings examined include the AVROS Building, London Sumatra Building, the Old Bank Indonesia, the former Warenhuis, and Tjong A Fie Mansion as a benchmark of successful conservation. The findings reveal that most of these buildings have high potential for new uses—commercial, educational, or cultural—if approached with context-sensitive and historically respectful strategies.
