This study aimed to examine the effect of varied shooting training on the shooting performance of athletes at SSB Garuda II Tanjung Jati Langkat in 2024. An experimental approach was employed using a one-group pretest–posttest design. The sample consisted of 10 athletes selected through purposive sampling from a population of 14 players. The training intervention was implemented over a six-week period with three training sessions per week. Shooting performance was assessed using a standardized test that measured shooting accuracy and execution time through a predetermined scoring system. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality and homogeneity tests, and a paired-sample t-test. The results demonstrated an improvement in athletes’ shooting performance following the intervention. The mean score increased from 50.97 in the pretest to 55.00 in the posttest. Furthermore, the paired-sample t-test revealed that the calculated t-value (5.22) exceeded the critical t-table value (1.7459) at the 0.05 significance level, indicating a statistically significant improvement after the training program. These findings suggest that varied shooting training effectively enhances shooting performance among youth soccer athletes. In conclusion, the implementation of varied shooting exercises can improve technical performance while reducing training monotony. Therefore, coaches are encouraged to incorporate diverse shooting drills into training programs to optimize skill development and maintain athlete motivation.
