Sumbang Duo Baleh sebagai Dasar Pendidikan Islam dalam Penguatan Karakter di Minangkabau

Sumbang Duo Baleh is a Minangkabau ethical guideline that regulates the social and moral behavior of the community. From an Islamic educational perspective, its values ​​have a strong relevance to moral teachings. This study aims to analyze how Sumbang Duo Baleh can strengthen Islamic character education in Minangkabau. The method used is library research through a review of literature related to Minangkabau customs, moral concepts, and Islamic education. The results show that twelve categories of sumbang such as Sumbang Kato, Sumbang Karajo, and Sumbang Pakaian are in line with the principles of adab in Islam, especially in aspects of politeness, responsibility, and respect. This relevance is reinforced by QS. Al-Qalam verse 4 and the hadith of the Prophet ﷺ regarding the perfection of noble morals. Thus, Sumbang Duo Baleh has the potential to become an effective basis of local wisdom in strengthening Islamic character education in the younger generation.
