<![CDATA[Work engagement guru merupakan faktor krusial dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan. Kepemimpinan kepala sekolah menentukan semangat, dedikasi, dan keterlibatan guru dalam menjalankan tugasnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan authentic leadership kepala sekolah terhadap work engagement guru SMK Negeri 5 Padang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik total sampling terhadap 89 guru SMK Negeri 5 Padang Tahun Pelajaran 2025/2026. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Authentic Leadership Inventory (ALI) yang diadaptasi oleh Malau & Widyastuti (2024) dan Utrecht Work Engagement Scale-9 (UWES-9) yang diadaptasi oleh Kristiana et al. (2018). Berdasarkan hasil analisis regresi linear sederhana, diperoleh nilai p =.020 (p < 0.05), sehingga dapat diketahui bahwa authentic leadership kepala sekolah memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan work engagement guru SMK Negeri 5 Padang. Semakin kuat penerapan gaya kepemimpinan authentic leadership kepala sekolah, semakin tinggi tingkat work engagement guru SMK Negeri 5 Padang dan begitu sebaliknya. Abstract Teacher work engagement is a crucial factor in improving the quality of education. The leadership of the school principal determines teachers’ vigor, dedication, and absorption in performing their duties. This study aims to examine the influence of the principal’s authentic leadership style on the work engagement of teachers at SMK Negeri 5 Padang. This study employed a quantitative approach using total sampling on 89 teachers at SMK Negeri 5 Padang for the 2025/2026 academic year. The instruments used were the Authentic Leadership Inventory (ALI) adapted by Malau & Widyastuti (2024) and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale-9 (UWES-9) adapted by Kristiana et al. (2018). Based on the results of simple linear regression analysis, a p-value of .020 (p < 0.05) was obtained, indicating that the principal’s authentic leadership has a significant effect in increasing the work engagement of teachers at SMK Negeri 5 Padang.
