Gym-based training for sports coaches serves as a strategic measure to enhance their ability to design, implement, and evaluate physical training programs that are systematic and tailored to athletes' needs. This initiative aims to improve the understanding and proficiency of provincial coaches in utilizing gym facilities to build the physical conditioning of athletes at the Regional Sports Education and Training Center (PPLD), which is managed by the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Provincial Youth and Sports Agency. The activity employs a participatory training approach, incorporating material presentations, equipment demonstrations, hands-on practice, discussions, and performance evaluations. The training curriculum covers fundamental fitness principles, the functions and usage of fitness equipment, the design of training programs to improve strength, endurance, and flexibility, as well as safety protocols and injury prevention. Participants consist of provincial-level coaches involved in athlete development at the NTT Provincial PPLD. The results indicate that participants gained a better understanding and greater proficiency in using fitness equipment and became capable of creating well-structured training programs aligned with the specific characteristics and needs of the athletes. The training also encouraged coaches to adopt training principles that are structured and measurable, with the ultimate goal of enhancing athletic performance. Thus, gym-based training serves as an effective means to boost coaches' capabilities, thereby supporting the quality of elite sports development at the NTT Provincial Youth and Sports Agency's PPLD.
