Welcoming activities for the holy month of Ramadan in elementary schools can serve as an effective effort to instill Islamic values while strengthening students’ character education. The momentum of Ramadan provides an opportunity for schools to introduce religious values through meaningful and engaging activities. One of the activities that can be implemented is educational competitions such as coloring contests, Islamic speech competitions, Islamic quizzes, and memorization of prayers and short Qur’anic verses which involve students’ active participation in the learning process. This study aims to analyze the role of educational competitions in instilling Islamic values among elementary school students during Ramadan welcoming activities. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that educational competitions can improve students’ understanding of Islamic values and foster positive attitudes such as discipline, responsibility, honesty, and social awareness. Therefore, Ramadan welcoming activities through educational competitions play an important role in developing the religious character of elementary school students.
